You hear a sigh come from the living room after putting your son Scorpius to bed. You lean against the door frame watching your husband, of five years, Draco run a hand over his face. "Are you okay, my love" you ask making your way towards him. He looks up to you and sighs again. "I was just thinking" he says as you sit down next to him, leaning into his side.
"What about, Draco?" You ask running a hand through his hair as he wraps an arm around your shoulder. He leans his head into your neck placing small kisses here and there. "About before the war," he murmurs, placing another kiss to your neck. You close your eyes as Draco sucks on your neck, surely leaving a mark.
"D-Draco, that was years ago. What you did wasn't wrong. You were forced into it, a-and I love you nonetheless," you stutter as Draco continues to kiss your neck lovingly. "Mhmm" he murmurs, rubbing your hip slightly.
"Mummy?" You hear a small voice ask. Draco sighs before leaning back on the couch. Scorpius stands at the door, toy snake and green blanket in hand. "What's wrong, my baby?" You ask holding your arms out for him to crawl into.
"I had a nightmare, mummy" you whimpers. Draco slides an arm around your shoulders again and wraps another around Scorpius. "What about, Scorp?" Draco asks stroking Scorpius' cheeks lightly.
"A-a bad man was trying to hurt me, daddy. He already hurt you and mummy and he was after me." His little bottom lips quivered as he remembered what his nightmare was about.
"Oh, my baby, don't you worry. Mummy and Daddy aren't going anywhere, I promise. Would you like to stay with us tonight? We'll keep the bad dreams away." Scorpius nods and Draco adds "Mummy and I love you more than anything, my boy. We'll always keep you safe." Draco lies back on the arm of the couch, pulling you and Scorpius with him.
That night you all fell asleep on the couch. Together. As a family.
