Chapter Twenty-Five
Emmett worked well with us. He had to stay in the house with Esme while Rosalie and Edward continued their education at their school. Emmett was still a newborn so he couldn't join them for a while yet. And he was in grieving. He missed his family and was hurting that he had to leave them alone with no goodbyes. Edward confessed to me that he had helped Emmett to leave a small fortune for the McCarty family. After that had happened, you could see Emmett cheering up more. Obviously all he had needed was closure. It had been the same for Esme when she found out Charles was dead or for Rosalie when she murdered all who had hurt her and stolen her human life away. Edward hadn't needed closure because he had nothing to live for. I had only found closure when I had found my way to live... So closure was the key to recovery.
