Chapter Fifty-One
Alice and Jasper married before we left. Their wedding was grand and small with only vampire guests. This only made it easier on Jasper. And Emmett. Emmett had fallen off the wagon a few days before the wedding of Alice and Jasper. This meant that we had an even shorter deadline to move to Forks.
With Alice and Jasper wed, they went on a short honeymoon to London while we made the move to Forks. They were only gone for a week before they came back and by then, we were already in our home once again.
I registered Edward, Rosalie, Emmett, Alice and Jasper in Forks' local high school. I also got myself a job at the hospital. Emmett and Jasper weren't too eager to go to school but with Edward, Rose and Alice, I knew they would be okay. Esme would be at home if they were able to leave.
"You know... We don't even have a story to spread around yet." Edward said one night. We had been living in Forks for just two weeks but Edward was right. A story was important to keeping our true identities hidden and secret from humans or outsiders.
"Rosalie and Jasper Hale were adopted by their aunt Esme. Carlisle adopted Edward, Emmett and me. Sorted." Alice said, smugly.
"So I take Rosalie's surname?" Jasper looked very uncomfortable at the idea of that.
"Sure. It will work." Alice was still confident. I glanced a look at Rose. She seemed taken aback by Alice's confidence at Jasper taking her second name.
"Is that alright with you, Rosalie?" I asked her. She looked at me, still looking slightly taken aback.
"Er... Sure..."
"Good, good. Esme can start spreading that around and your stories are set." I clapped my hands together as I spoke.
So it was sorted. Edward and Alice were set to join the year below Rosalie, Emmett and Jasper. My shifts at the hospital had been arranged and everything was finally in place for another setting.
