Chapter Thirty-Seven

Edward walked into my room. His tie wasn't done up yet.

"Have you thought about their honeymoon?" He asked me.

"Yep. I purchased tickets to Paris. They're off tonight." I replied.

It was the morning of Rosalie and Emmett's wedding. I was in my room, getting dressed. I was to walk Rose down the aisle. That was something that I never dreamed I would get the chance to do so of course, I was delighted when she asked me.

"Well, it's starting in five." He warned.

"So you better get down there." Edward was Emmett's best man.

"Yeah." Edward gave a last smile then hurried downstairs. I looked at myself in the mirror. I was wearing a white tuxedo with a crystal blue tie. Edward was wearing the same.

"You look very dashing." Esme smiled at me. I turned to look at my wife, stood in the doorway. Esme was wearing a pink, ankle length dress with matching glittery heels.

"And you look amazing." I held my hand out to her and she came to me and we kissed lightly. When we pulled away, Esme smiled and dabbed at my lips.

"Sorry... Left a bit of pink lipstick there." I smiled at her and kissed her cheek.

"You better get down there too. Where is she?"

"In her room." I nodded. Esme blew me a kiss then hurried downstairs. I followed her out the room and knocked on Rosalie's door. Tanya opened the door a fraction, her eyes peering at me.

"Well you're all suited and booted." Had I mentioned that Tanya, Irina and Kate would be bridesmaids?

Tanya opened the door. All three girls were wearing knee length dresses that were of an amazing material. They were white but with a layer on over the skirt that had silver snowflakes designed on it. It looked amazing. They had high heels of silver with a silver snowflake to pin together their hairdos.

"You all look fantastic!" I claimed. They all smiled at me.

"Rose? Come out. It's nearly time." Irina knocked on her bathroom door. The door opened and out walked Rosalie.

Rose was wearing the same styled dress as the bridesmaids. However her dress was floor length and was crystal blue. The skirt was still layered with the silver snowflakes. She held Esme's bouquet which she had caught. She had a veil on but not covering her face. The veil was behind her hair. This showed the silver tiara she had on her lightly gently flowing waves of blonde curls.

"Oh... Rosalie..." My heart filled with pride as I took in her appearance. She smiled.

"You like it?"

"I love it." I walked over to her and gently kissed her cheek. She was wearing a light covering of make up as well.

"What time is it?"

"Not long now. We should get ready."

"Well, you have something borrowed which is the bouquet. Something blue which is the dress. Something new which is the garter. Now all you need is something old!" Tanya said, clapping her hands together.

"Excuse me ladies. I'm over three hundred years. She definitely has something old on her wedding day." All four women laughed. The bridesmaids then filed out the room and went downstairs to wait for the music. I tucked Rosalie's hand into the crook of my arm. We then slowly descended the staircase and into the family room to wait. From the family room, we would go to the back garden where the ceremony would take place.

When the music started, the three bridesmaids walked out first. I squeezed Rosalie's hand lightly.

"You ready for this?" I asked. Rosalie took a deep breath and nodded. We then slowly walked out of the house and between the chairs, down the aisle to where Emmett waited. A photographer had been hired to take pictures. He was positioned to the left in front of all the seats so he had the best position.

I walked Rose to Emmett and then put his hand in hers. I kissed Rosalie's cheek and then went to my seat beside Esme.

The priest said his bit; the couple exchanged vows and rings. They were pronounced man and wife and kissed under a flurry of snow that had just started to fall. We all stood up and clapped then followed the party through the well-lit trees to a clearing that was the reception. Once again, a wedding tent had been hired. Due to there being humans, a buffet was served. There was even a chocolate fountain.

Emmett and Rosalie followed traditions. The garter came off, the bouquet was tossed, the blue and white cake was cut and the newly-weds took to the dance floor for the first dance. I took Esme's hand.

"We did well, didn't we?" She sighed happily in response.

"We did." I then saw Edward and I frowned. He was talking to Tanya but he looked bored.

"We need to do something about him..."

"He'll find someone in his own time." Esme smiled, patting my arm lightly but I could see the worry in her own eyes.

Rosalie came up to me then. Her eyes were bright with her happiness. She held out her hand to me.

"Can we dance?" I smiled and took her hand.

"The honour is all mine, m'lady." She giggled and I followed her to the dance floor. I pulled her close and placed one of my hands on her waist and the other in her hand. She put her free hand on my shoulder. We danced on the dance floor. I spun my daughter around and we danced. Emmett and Esme took to the dance floor not long after we did.

"Are you happy, Rosalie?" I asked her.

"I couldn't be happier." She told me. I kissed her forehead.

"I can see that. I'm proud of you." She smiled.

"Thanks, Dad."

After the song ended, I let go of Rosalie's hand. Emmett came up to us.

"It's time you guys started heading out for your honeymoon." I told them both.

"Honeymoon?" Rosalie's eyes were wide with happiness and awe.

"Yep! Come on." I led the way back through the trees to the house. They followed.

Back in the house, I directed Rosalie to her bedroom and Emmett to mine. Irina, Kate and Carmen helped Rose out of her dress and I talked to Emmett while he changed out of his suit into jeans and a red shirt. He pulled on his shoes then looked at me. I looked at him too and smiled.

"I'm proud of you Emmett. Really proud of you." I hugged him. He hugged me back.

"Thanks Dad..." He whispered. His voice was choked up with emotion. I clapped him on the back then let go of him.

"Come on then." We walked outside of the bedroom together but Emmett waited on the top of the stairs.

"I'm going to wait here for her." I smiled and nodded then descended the staircase. I joined Esme outside of the front door with the rest of the guests. Edward had assembled them while I had taken the couple to change and Esme had packed the car. Esme took my hand and squeezed it. I smiled at her.

Emmett and Rosalie appeared and there was applause and a shower of rice from the guests. They walked down the steps and to where we were waiting by the car. Edward joined us then. We all hugged them both and then they were getting in the car. I put my arm around Esme's shoulders. She put her arm around her waist and held Edward's hand as we watched the newly-weds pull off in their car, waving.
