"There you are!" Caleb calls from behind me.

"Damn it," I curse under my breathe. Just when I thought I escaped, he comes back.

"Hey," I smile at him,

"Where were you?" Caleb rages. I see that he's a little upset I didn't stick with him the entire night.

"Not with you," I point out the obvious with a fake smile.

"I figured." Caleb smirks.

"Can I leave?" I ask him not really for permission but just notifying him.

"What? No. The party just started. Plus I just found you again," Caleb frowns.

"And I'm starting to get bored," I tell him. Honestly, I was getting more afraid that the man will come find me now that Jax left me and I'm standing next to the son of the CEO of this company.

"And I'm starting to think you just want to get out of here," Caleb looks down at me and I give him my puppy-eyes.

"Thanks for understanding," I pat his shoulder and start walking away in my high heels.

"Wait. I love this song, let's dance," Caleb points to the ceiling and offers his hand. I take a closer listen to the song that is playing but it's hard to listen since everyone here is talking.

"Is this..ONE DIRECTION?" I gasp and laugh at the fact that Cold Caleb likes listening to 1D.

"Yes! And 'You and I' is a great song," He defends his position and I just nod laughing at him.

I learn more about him everyday.

"Right. Sorry but dance with you and yourself," I joke and he catches on.

Walking to the building's balcony, I look down to see Chicago's city lights having a party of its own while I'm stuck at this one. Caleb walks up behind me holding my waist.

I glance down to see his hand snaking around my waist but don't move it away. I'm too tired to fight him anymore.

"Where were you this entire time?" He asks me quietly.

"Why do you want to know?" I dodge his question, leaning into his body. My feet were hurting from these heels all night and he seemed like a sturdy wall to lean onto.

"So I can kill the man who took my date away from me," he jokes and I roll my eyes at his threatening joke.

Real funny.

"Then I'll never tell you," I say and turn my attention back to Chicago's lights. The air was freshening, windy but not too much - just right.

A very odd feeling for the fall night sky in Downtown Chicago.

"I know you were with Jax," Caleb blurts out and I snap my head back with eyes widened in shock.

How did he know? Was he spying on me?

"You know Jax?" I shriek.

How did he know Jax? There's no way these two can be friends; their personalities are polar opposites.

"Yeah. His father works for my father, we've been best friends since birth," Caleb smiles.

And he continues to surprise me!

"Really? So he's a hot-tempered, thick headed, conceited ass? Like you?" I give a smile back.

"Gee. Don't hold it back, keep it coming," Caleb jokes.

"He's your best friend? That's a shame... I was actually starting to like him," I frown at the thought of the two of them together laughing like good friends.
