I keep running back to the villain, although I know I deserve a hero.

I rush into my room excitedly and shift through the pile of clothes on my beanbag chair. He was picking me up soon and I had no idea what to wear. I throw my clothes left and right, trying desperately to find something presentable for this date. I can my eyes over the not so flattering options and remember Alex's words.
"Just forget about him. Worry about other stuff like your grades or other guys or something. No one said you had to spend every passing second worrying over this asshole; Do what you want to do."
Yesterday she had suggested that I meet up with Jaime on the grounds that he had was sure to get my mind off of things, so I called him later on and he was pleased to say yes and even call it a date.
Rolling my eyes at my own clothes, I search for the nicest thing I could find : Alex's stripper dress.
I pull the bundle of clothes out of my dresser and messily throw them to my bed. This dress was perfect, no it wasn't an actual stripper dress, it was a black, high neck halter top, and a high waisted mini skirt. I actually loved this outfit on Alex, but I always teased her when she wore it. I slip the elastic material over my chest and shimmy the skirt over my hips. I step over to the floor length mirror and inspect myself, the fair skin of my stomach peeked out between the two pieces of black, and my brown curls cascaded down the open back of the top. I've never been especially skilled when it comes to makeup so I always dreaded this step in getting ready. I applied a thin layer of concealer to cover my naturally red cheeks, and skip the eyeliner, I already knew that if I even attempted to do it myself I would somehow end up with it on my elbow. I take out my 'better than sex' mascara and coat my long lashes, I filled my lips with a dark matte purple, I hoped the dramatic over lining and the deep color would make my lips look full and beautiful. I was done, I was ready for this date, well almost ready, I needed to stop thinking about Josh, that was going to make or break this date. I wring my hands nervously, and decide to text Alex.
