After Josh's well-deserved meltdown, we walked around the mall indefinitely always keeping a close eye on Josh to make sure he doesn't go on and buy something ridiculous. After dawn, we decided that it was probably time to head home so we walked out to Josh's BMW and pulled away.

The drive home from the mall wasn't as I usually expected it to be: Josh spoke excitedly to Tyler about things that I didn't quite know about, using references that I didn't understand, but the brunette seemed to enjoy it. I've never seen Josh as joyful, or even care-free than that moment. Every so often Josh would drum his fingers to the beat of the radio and Tyler would hum along, I would watch in amusement.

"What do you guys want to do now?" I tried to break the thick wall of laughter and song that lingered between us.

"Tyler and I are going to go back to his place probably." Josh piped up with a hopeful tone to his voice.

"Why don't you just stay with me for a little longer?" I suggested earning me a joyful smile from Tyler in the back.

"I'm pretty sure Tyler is going to want to go home and-" Josh started.

"Nah, I'm good to stay with Phoebe." Tyler flashed a smile that contradicted his best friend, "Besides, I have to pick up my car from her house anyway."

"Alright then," Josh gripped the steering wheel a little tighter and nodded as he turned his turn signal on.

I led the three of us up the driveway and into my empty house, I set my keys down on the counter, and pulled out a drink from the fridge.

"You guys want something?" I called from the kitchen as they got settled on the couch .

"Do you have any adult beverages?" Josh asked in return.

"I have Capri suns..." I trailed off.

"I'll take one of those!" Tyler called excitedly, "Josh will too." he added.

"Yeah, I suppose." Josh called quieter than Tyler.

I returned to the living room with three strawberry-kiwi pouches and handed one to each of the boys quickly.

"Thank you." Josh mumbled as he attempted to puncher the pouch with the straw, but only managing to spray his face due to fact that he was holding the bag too hard.
