I'm eager to know god's plans and why he decided I should orbit around you.

I exhale in relief, "Good to know."

My father looks at me with guilty brown eyes as we stand there awkwardly. He licks his feet and scratches the back of his head before speaking, "So, what now?"

"What do you mean?" I question hopping up on the counter behind me.

"Buddy," Dad smiles weakly, "You ran out of a high school with an unauthorized person. Do you understand how much trouble you could've gotten that kid into? How much trouble you're in?"

"It can't be that bad, right?" I try to be optimistic. The truth is that aside from a couple incidents here and there, I've never been in trouble before. Never been grounded, suspended, held in detention, or expelled; Safe for today that is. I always try to stir away from situations that could potentially problematic and do my best in everything I do. Anywhere from AP courses and extracurricular activities to  cutting off some of my friends and abstaining from activities that involved too much fun.

He chuckled sarcastically, "Try again."

"What? Did I get detention again with Dr. Dinosaur?" I roll my eyes and cross my legs.

"You've got too weeks, Phoebe." Dad said plainly, "You got suspended for two weeks. And that kid you were running around with, they didn't even mention that piece of garbage. They don't know how you did it, but they know that you ran away and when they find out that it was with him he better start running."

"So it is that bad." I bite the inside of my cheek. I jump from the counter and turn the corner to the hallway that leads to my room, "I guess I'll go to bed then."

"Not so fast, kiddo."

I sigh in exasperation, and peak my head back into the kitchen, "Yes, Dad?"

"We need to figure out what to do with you, you got suspended remember?" He raises an eyebrow. "Not unless you want your mother finding you here in the morning which will require me to tell her about your little rendezvous with little Joshua." He frowns at the boys name as if it had a bad taste.

"I see," I nod in a agreement, " I guess I'll just hang out with you tomorrow."

"Oh my god no, anything but that." He complains.

"Because you're a pest" he explains jokingly, however I know he's joking.

I hope.
