You only really know what I've allowed you to know.
☼ Phoebe
"Well, what was it?" Josh stated at me with sleepy coffee-coloured eyes. He sat up a little straighter letting the blanket that covered his bare chest drop to his lap. God, he was so attractive. I couldn't help but to let my eyes wonder along his torso from Josh's broad shoulders to the waist line of his grey sweats which stop far too early in my opinion.
"Are you okay, Phoebe?"
And oh god, I loved the way he said my name. His pink lips curled and twitched in all the right ways whenever he said it; It was so effortless. The raspiness that laces his morning voice made my heart shake and bend in delicious, glorious ways.
"Phoebe!" I hear him raise his voice, snapping his thick fingers in front of my eyes.
"Yes, yes I'm here!" I match his voice, rubbing eyes.
"What was that?" He furrowed his eyebrows, "You were in a trance or something."
"What was what?" I try to ignore his question.
"Do you think I'm blind?" Josh defies, "I just saw you wake up practically hyperventilating, then just stare into nothing. Don't play dumb."
"I don't know what you're talking about." I deny Josh's accusations and get up from the bed to leave the room and slip into the bathroom, locking the door behind me and stripping to nothing.
Maybe a warm shower will help me.
Scratch that, I hope it does.
I tilt my head into the water, letting it vessel through my hair in tiny warm veins. I really shouldn't be washing my hair since I washed it yesterday, but when the hazy movie-like images of Josh's lips hovering above mine, I reach for the knob and turn the water ice-cold.
Shivering, I step into my room that luckily the blue-headed man had vacated and close the door behind me. I search for underwear ending up with a pastel pink pair. I look into the mirror determining if I should wear my hair down or not, straighten it or curl it.
I try not to think about Josh's preferences and how I would do anything to hear the words 'breath-taking' and 'perfect' slip through those lips again.
So I do straighten it down to my elbows, and put make-up on too, but try to convince myself that I'm not doing so to catch a certain boy's attention. I bring my legs into a pair of leggings Alex had left here at some point and a teal crop top.
