"Alright, let me get this straight," she said with a questioning voice, "Joshua here is part of a band?"
Josh and I nod in unison. We've been at this for about twenty minutes now; just trying to explain to her when is the situation is, hell, I don't even know if I'm sure what's going on here.
She stares back at Josh with her arms crossed, "So you're like 'famous' or whatever?"
A puzzled expression was playing on , her eyes low on the ground. "Like a boy band?" She looks at Josh with a questioning look.
He sighs in frustration, "We are not a boy band."
"Who is 'we'" I ask, earning a nod from Alex.
"It's just my best friend and me." His eyes failing to make contact with mine.
"Yeah what's that about?" Alex questions, "How come there is only two of you?" Josh rolls his eyes letting another sigh of frustration go.
"What happened to the other nineteen pilots?" I giggle slightly and can see Josh getting aggravated.
"Do you even fly anything at all?" Alex said holding back a smile, clearly not noticing Josh's temper and voice rising.
"We don't fly anything," he runs his long fingers through the light blue hair and looks directly at Alex and then at me, "There isn't anyone else but us, so if you would please stop asking questions that'd be very much appreciated." And with that he sunk back into the couch, cradling his face in his hands.
Then it was silent for a moment. Alex and I gave each other timid looks, regretting how far we had pushed him.
"Whatever." Alex said in a low voice, rolling her eyes.
"Excuse me?" Josh's voice low, eyes glued to my friend.
"I said, whatever" I interject before Alex could respond, taking the blame for her.
"You need to learn how to watch your mouth."
"And you need to learn how to watch your temper." I respond instantly, causing him to look away.
Once again, we sit in silence and his time around nobody dares break it. At least not until we hear soft knocks coming from the other side of the door. I make my way across the floor to open the door, to my surprise I'm greeted with someone I haven't seen all day.
