"Oh no. Hurry hurry hurry! Come on almost there."

I was running down the hallway towards the DADA room, late for my meeting with Professor Snape about who knows what. I looked at my clock and saw that I was already five minutes late. And you know Professor Snape never likes people that are late to meetings. I see the DADA room and put on a little burst of energy, to get to the room quicker.

I skid into the room, panting and out of breath, to see Draco and Professor Snape already sitting there. As soon as I saw them, I started devising an excuse on why I was late.

"Why are you late, Miss Fey?" Professor Snape said sternly, in his monotone voice. I bit back a sigh and a grumble and proceeded in telling him my five second-made excuse.

"Well Professor. I was out on the quidditch area practicing for our upcoming game and I got carried away (no pun intended) because of the joy I have for quidditch and didn't realize the time. Then when I found out I was late, I rushed all the way over here as quick as possible. I know how important time management is to you since I'm sure you're very busy with the other students."

I bit back a sigh of relief at how natural that sounded. And I did tell him some of the truth , just sweetened up the talk a bit for him. He seemed to mull over my excuse and while he was doing it, I looked over at Draco, to see him shooting a smirk in my direction.

Once Snape was done thinking over my response, he said, "Okay. I understand your need to do well at this next quidditch match and I expect that you will be punctual if or when I call you to meet with me again. Is that understood?"

"Yes sir," I responded before moving away from the door and towards the table in which they were sitting at. "Now what did you want to talk to me about?" I asked as soon as I sat down.

"Well you see, Miss Fey. Mr. Malfoy here has been having some trouble with his schoolwork especially Defense Against the Dark Arts and Potions but more so in Defense Against the Dark Arts. Since you are at the top of your class in both of the two classes, I've decided that you would be an ideal tutor for Mr. Malfoy."

I as shocked at his response. I thought he had called me here because of a mishap that I had done or something that got me into trouble. Though I rarely ever get into much trouble, it could still happen.

"I'm shocked, Professor. But if you think that I'd be a good tutor to Draco, I'll take your word for it. After all, you do have pretty good tabs on all your students."

"Good. I think you could teach a thing or two to Mr. Malfoy," Snape said, causing Draco to go beat red with either embarrassment or anger. "You'll start next week on Monday. After classes end, come straight here and I'll tell you what you need to tutor him in."

"After classes on Monday?!" I half shout. "But that's our last practice before our big game Tuesday and-"

"I understand that you are concerned about your game. I promise it'll be quick and you can still get the majority of your practice in after our meeting."

I though it over for a second. It is a good experience for me and I'm top of the team in quidditch still. I guess missing a few minutes won't hurt.

"Okay. Tomorrow after classes it is," I said, groaning under my breath.

"Good. Glad we have that settled. I expect you to be punctual this time, Miss. Fey," Snape said sternly. "You both are dismissed."

"Thank you sir," we both said, as we hurried out of the room as quick as possible.

I saw Izzi standing outside the door, reading her book about Care of Magical Creatures from the library.

"Hey how'd it go?" She greeted me as I walked towards her.

"Alright. It was kind of intimidating but mostly good things were said."

"Cool. What did Snape want anyways?"

"Well, he wants me to tutor Draco in some DADA spells and potions. Kinda surprising if you ask me because Draco seems like the type of person who would be great at stuff like that. You know, concerning the dark arts and all."

"I know what you mean. You and him are tied at the top spots in those classes, or at least the last time he told us our class percentiles. Maybe he's using that to get close to you," she said cheekily, wiggling her eyebrows some.

"Izzi." I gave an exasperated sigh. "How many times do I have to say this. We are not going out. He hates my guts. And I don't even like him," I said, smiling a little as I pushed her shoulder playfully.

"Sure sure. Say whatever you like. But in all seriousness, you have to open your eyes sometimes. Life's going to move quicker than you'd expect it to. We have our finals coming up this year and next year will be the Triwizard Tournament. Soon we'll be out of school, working for the ministry of magic or some other thing and before you know it. Boom! You're dead before you can say Hungarian Horntail. This is like the prime time of our lives and you just want to throw it all away for schoolwork?!" Izzi looked out of breath but satisfied that she got that off her chest. I laughed a little at how serious she was about all this.

"Oh come on. I've got plenty of time. Four years to be exact. And besides, no one likes me in that way yet."

As soon as I said that Izzi gave an exasperated sigh and hung her head.

"I give up. I'm not going to try to reason with you anymore. You're just too difficult," Izzi said, laughing as we made our way towards the common room.
