Once we started flying the next day, it took a long time. We took a lot of breaks to sit down and chat for a while before starting up again. Finally we saw Charlie's house with his dragon barn next to it.
"Look there it is," I pointed out to Izzi.
"Oh finally. If we had to go on any further I might have fallen off my broom from exhaustion," Izzi said, smiling at me.
"I know right? But now we are here so let's go down and see if Charlie is in."
We were about to begin our descent when I heard a rustling behind us.
"What was that?" I asked Izzi as I turned around on my broom.
Draco POV:
I've been following Adrienne for two days now. I've been resting when they have, out of sight obviously but so far my presence hasn't been noticed by the girls. ow it's the second day and I've been trailing at least 200 feet behind the girls and their voices were carried by the wind so I could listen to their conversation. I just heard that we had just arrive and I was straining to see when I didn't see where I was going, causing the tree I just ran into to make a loud rustling noise.
Shoot I thought as I heard Adrienne say, "what's that noise?" so I quickly darted behind a tree, hoping that I was quick enough.
Adrienne POV:
I turned around to the direction of the rustling and turned in time to see a flash of white-blonde hair as the person darted behind a nearby tree.
Oh you have got to be kidding me? I thought as I signaled for Izzi to stya quiet and to follow me. I turned around the corner of the tree and my suspicions were confirmed. There was Draco Malfoy, sitting on his Nimbus with a smug look on his face.
"See? I told you that I would come along whether you liked it or not."
"What the heck were you thinking? You could've been killed and no one would've known, bu I guess no one would've cared anyways," I said, mad that we hadn't noticed him earlier in our journey.
"So you are glad that I didn't die?" Draco said cheekily.
"That's not what I said," I growled under my breath. "Come on! I guess if you're here then you're here and I guess I can't do anything about it," I sighed, grabbing Draco's ear and dragging him along as Izzi and I walked up the path towards Charlie's house.
"Okay okay. I'm not four, I can walk myself," Draco said as he ripped himself away from my group and began walking beside me.
We made it to Charlie's door and knocked on the door. We waited a second before the door was opened and Charlie was standing in the doorway.
"Hey guys! You must be Anne," he said gesturing to me.
"Yup. I am here about your dragon incident," I said smiling.
"So I heard. Well come in and I'll show you to your rooms and then we can go out and meet the dragons."
So he shows us our rooms, which were rather nice. Of course Draco got his own room, for obvious reasons, and Izzi and I shared another room (Izzi and Anne's room in the title pic). Then Charlie led us outside to the dragon barns. There were a lot of dragons.
"And this is my personal dragon," Charlie said, pointing to a Romanian Longhorn that was standing in from on us.
"He's beautiful," I commented. "What's his name?"
"His name is Svirep, which means 'fierce' in Bulgarian. Svirep, meet Anne, Izzi, and Draco. Guys, meet Svirep."
"Nice to meet you," Izzi laughed as she patted its flank good-humorously.
"Okay now that you've met my dragon, come and meet the other ones that I have," Charlie said as he started walking down the aisle.
"Do we really have to meet all these other dragons?" Draco whispered tome as we trailed behind Charlie, listening slightly to him ramble on about the different dragon breeds and whatnot. "Because I'm getting hungry."
"Yeah I think he plans on it," I whispered back, smiling. "And your dinner can wait. You know you didn't have to come along," I said, smirking at him.
"Oh shut up!" he said laughing.
I caught Izzi doing love hearts with her hands and immediately shut up.
Oh darn it. I'm not supposed to talk like this to Draco. I'm supposed to be mad at him. I thought, mentally kicking myself. Oh well.
So from then on I made a mental effort to act poised and controlled around him, not speaking to him too much and sticking close to Izzi the entire time Charlie was going on about his dragons. Though honestly I don't think any of us were listening and just wanted to go in and eat food.
Finally after what seeming like five billion years later (more like ten minutes though) he was at his last dragon and was not ushering us into his house, saying that we must be hungry and tired after our flight.
So once we've eaten and chatted with Charlie about all the adventures he's been in, which were actually interesting. But it was getting late and he had just told us that we should go to sleep now.
"Okay. Goodnight everyone," Izzi said, gesturing to me to head to bed too.
"Oh yeah. Goodnight guys," I said and headed off with Izzi. We walked into our room and I immediately fell face first into my bed, groaning.
"What's wrong?" Izzi asked, laughing under her breath.
"Why does Draco have to be here? Why did Charlie have to ramble so much? Why? Just why?" I groaned.
"I don't know but he's here now so we just have to deal with it. But we need a game plan for tomorrow. Any ideas?"
"Start early. Find the dragon. Hope it kills Draco," I said smiling
"But seriously though," Izzi said.
"Okay. So we do need to start early. We should probably start by heading towards Northern Romania, which is where the majority of the wild boars/pigs reside, which is mainly the Fireball's diet. Then if we find some wild Fireballs, we'll set to work trying to find Charlie's. And we also need to talk to him about what his dragon looks like. So that's our plan. Any changes?"
"Nope. I think we're set. We need to tell Draco tomorrow and set out. But now it's time to go to bed so we have a good nights sleep for tomorrow. So hope you have a good sleep. Goodnight Anne!"
"Goodnight Izzi."
