September 25, 1993

I was a cleaning up the house. Skylar and Tony were with Marty for the day, so I was alone. I tidied up everything the kids messed up.  I had to go to the market to buy groceries. I grabbed my purse and my keys. I opened the front door and was shocked to see Brian already there. I choked on my own breath, and my heart skipped a beat.

"Jesus, Bri, you scared the shit out of me." I said

"Sorry, I was about to knock, but you opened first." He said. I let out a little gasp.

"It's okay" I said. "Would you like to come in?" He came inside. I closed the door. I put my purse down on the small table. He sat down in the living room. "Would you like anything?" I asked.

"No, I'm fine. Thank you." He smiled. I nodded and sat in the large chair across from him.

"It's so great to see you again." I said.

"It is. It's been a year, hasn't it?"

"Yea."

"Ever since that night-"

"Yea, it's been since."

"How are you and Marty?"

"We divorced. Have been for a couple of months now." His face changed.

"Was it because of..."

"Yea..um, he found out. Here's your watch by the way." I handed it to him. He looked at it and shook his head.

"I had been looking for this." He put his face in his hands. "Oh Dahlia, I am so sorry."

"There's no need to apologize. I think it was just for the better. We weren't that connected as were as a couple than as friends. It wasn't really the same."

"So, I guess you're not angry with me?"

"I don't really see the point."

"I see."

"How have you been?" I asked him.

"I've been alright. My album from last year went really well, it's still selling."

"I'm gad to hear."

"How are your children?"

"They're great. Tony turned two and Skylar started school. Everything's going just fine."

"I see."

"Roger came for a while."

"Did he?"

"Yea, he said he was in town only for a brief amount of time."

"I see. No wonder why I haven't seen him." He chuckled.

"Yea, he and Skylar spent a little time together. It was nice to see that bond between them."

"Does she know?"

"No."

"Is she ever going to know?"

"No."

"Are you sure you want that for her?"

"Yes, it's the right thing to do."

"She is your daughter, so I won't pressure you into raising your own child, but just for Roger's sake, just consider it."

I've been thinking about it, but I don't know if I'm ready to tell her the truth yet...
