And here is the final instalment of Burn. I am sorry about the long wait, but I didn't want to give you guys some crap ass ending. I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I would like to thank all of my readers, fans, commenters, voters and anyone else who has helped me in making Burn what it is today. It wouldn't have gotten this far if it wasn't for you guys. It has been an interesting journey full of sore fingers, headaches and major writers block, but it was an amazing experience. I thank all of you for your continued support and I hope that you will continue reading my future works after this is done.
Please enjoy the ending of Burn and let me know what you think. I tried to make it long and interesting for you guys and I hope I succeeded. I suck at endings. :) Anyway, please do enjoy.
With much love,
Ace

Chapter 42: Reborn
*Lilita' P.o.V.*
It was peaceful.
I couldn't feel the pain anymore and my head wasn't feeling like it was about to explode. I was calm and pain-free, and that was a surprise. I could see a bright light shining through my eyelids, but I couldn't bring myself to open them.
I just lay there, relishing in the feeling of complete and utter silence and serenity. I hadn't felt this way in a long time and to be honest, it was a relief. In reality, I was tired of all the fighting and the sadness that came with my everyday life.
Actually, let me rephrase that. I hate the bad stuff in my life, but with the bad stuff came the good stuff. The good stuff... that was what I lived for. The Akatsuki.... My children.... My brother.... Deidara....
Deidara.
An ache shoots through my chest and my throat tightens as his name floats around my thoughts, reminding me of the previous moments I shared with him. He saved our children and me; he saved me from myself.
"Wake up, Lilita." A soft voice reaches my ears, pulling me from my thoughts.
I go to respond, but find myself unable to do so. Instead, I opt for trying to open my eyes.
"Wake up." The voice repeats again, its soft tone dancing around me. I try again and this time I am able to open my eyes fully. The white light blinds me for a moment, but when I regain my vision, I see a never-ending white surrounding me.
"Lilita." The delicate voice sounds beside me, the sound floating around me in soft waves. Turning my head, my eyes fix onto a figure dressed in silver attire and surrounding by a white light. \r
They were still too far away for me to distinguish their face, but I could still make out their shape. As if sensing that I was watching them, the figure began moving forward until they were standing directly in front of me. It was a woman, and a very beautiful one at that.
As my eyes lock with hers, she flashes me an angelic smile. "Do you not remember me?" She questions, cocking her head to the side.
"No?" I reply, racking my brain as to how I might know her.
She laughs as she reaches out, brushing my hair out of my face before cupping my cheek in her palm. "After all this time, you would forget your own mother?"
My eyes widen as the last word slips out of her mouth. "Mum?" She just smiles at my question. Tears threaten to spill but I hold them in, not wanting to cry in front of my mother.
