Chapter 26: Break me to save me
*Lilita’s P.o.V.*
I love you too, more than you know.
Deidara’s words flow through my mind as my eyes flash open. I reached him and spoke to him. Good. Now, I have to finish my battle.
“Why don’t you just give up all ready?” Kohaku taunts, circling me like I was her prey.
I don’t reply, instead I disappear from her sight and into the shadows, planning my next move.
I was running out of time and out of options. I was almost out of chakra. I had no kunai, shuriken or scrolls left. I had no more hiding spots. I didn’t have a clue what to do next.
Overall, I was screwed.
“Lilita, come and let me end this.” Kohaku growls.
The shadows around me start to disappear, causing me to panic. Damn, I don’t know what to do.
“Ah, I found you.” Kohaku chuckles, appearing in front of me. “Time to end this.”
Her massive paw lifts into the air, her obsidian claws glinting in the light. Looking up at her, a small idea forms in my head.
“I give up.” I state calmly.
“What?” Kohaku freezes, her paw stopping in mid air.
“I said, I give up.” I say again, slower this time.
Kohaku seems to think this over before smirking deviously. “So, I can finish you off now?”
Shrugging, I look up and meet her eyes. “Do what you want. I give up.” When I say that last word, Kohaku’s paw comes flying down and hits me in the side, her claws piercing my skin before sending me flying into the wall.
As Kohaku beats me around, I just take it and wait for the right time. She throws me into another wall and this time, the wind is knocked out of me.
Carefully, I move so I was sitting on my knees, one arm wrapped around my stomach and the other supporting my weight. Blood spews out of my mouth in violent coughs, staining the ground below me.
“Why are you just taking it?” Kohaku questions as she stares down at my broken body.
“I’m taking it because I’m waiting.” I reply, coughing up large amounts of blood. Once I stop coughing, I feel myself get lighter and my eyes get heavier. Almost time.
“Waiting? For what?”
“This.” I whisper, as I fall to the ground, laying in my pool of blood. My eyes flutter shut and I start to fade away.
The blackness consumes me and just when I feel my plan fail, images run through my head.
But they weren’t images, they were my memories. My happy ones.
Memories of my old family, the Akatsuki, our missions, the fun times at the base, my birthday, when I was little, and most of all, ones of Deidara and me.
As the memories play over in my mind, my eyes start opening again.
In front of me was Kohaku, but she was glowing with a red chakra.
“What are you doing to me?” Kohaku screams as her paws start on fire, the flames slowly climbing up her limbs.
“You are a demon made up of hate and insanity. All you cause is destruction.” Pushing my self off the ground, I stumble towards her, clutching my stomach tightly. “Happiness and love. That’s what you lack. I am showing you my memories that contain love. And so far, it’s working. This is how I will master you. By diminishing you hate and replacing it with love. I might not always win, but I will try.”
Just as the flame completely consumes her, Kohaku sends me one smile. “Thank you.” And then she disappears, the red chakra flowing into me.
After that, I collapse.

“Is she awake yet?”
“No, she’s still out.”
“Can I see her, un?”
“I guess.”
I hear the sound of a door opening, shutting, then footsteps that stop next to me. A chair scrapes across the floor and I feel someone grab my hand, slowly stroking it.
“Hey Lita. When are you gonna wake up? We all miss you. It’s been really quiet without you, un.” Once the words reach my ears, I realize who it was. Deidara. Deciding to see what he has to say, I remain still.
“I really miss you too. It hasn’t been the same without you next to me. So, if you could, can you please wake up soon?” Deidara asks, his voice sounding broken. A pressure is then placed on my stomach and I assume that it’s Deidara’s head.
Peeking an eye open, I look down to see him laying there with his eyes closed, still holding my hand tightly. My stomach was covered with a white gauze. Hmm, must have stitches. Lifting my free hand, I lightly stroke his blonde head.
“Dei-Dei. I am awake.” I mumble softly. Deidara’s head whips up and his cyan eye meets my crimson ones.
“Lilita?” Deidara whispers softly before he crushes me into a hug.
“Hey, Dei. I know you missed me but your kind of squishing me and ripping my stitches.” I mumble.
Deidara releases me quickly. “Sorry! I’m just so glad you’re awake!”
“Me too.” I smile.
Deidara smiles back and goes to stand up. “Let me go tell the others your awake.” Deidara exclaims.
My hand flicks out and grabs his wrist, pulling him back towards me until I could wrap my arms around his neck. “No, you’re not going anywhere until you kiss your girlfriend.”
Deidara smirks down at me, wrapping his arms around my waist. “Gladly.” Deidara murmurs before crashing my lips to his.
