Chapter 32: Wise words

*Lilita’s P.o.V.*

“Lita, is something wrong?” Dei asks as he watches me pace back and forth in our room, worry etched across his face.

Shaking my head no, I continue pacing, mumbling slightly to myself. I abruptly stop in the middle of my pacing and turn to face Deidara with a serious expression.

“What’s wrong?” Deidara demands, standing up and grabbing me by the shoulders. When I don’t reply, he gives me a little shake. “Hey, you know you can tell me.” He states, his tone softer than before.

Shaking my head again, I carefully pull out of his grip and sit on the bed. Deidara follows suit and sits next to me, staring at me intently.

“Now, what’s wrong?”

Sighing, I turn and face him. “Nothings wrong, it’s just….” I start, my throat closing up before I can get any more words out.

“It’s just what?” Deidara pushes, but still keeps his voice calm, which surprises me.

“Dei, I just….” I look up at him with sad eyes. “I’m sorry….I just….I can’t….you can’t know yet. I’m sorry.” I whisper before disappearing out of the room.

When I reappear, I end up a few hundred yards away from the base. Looking around, I see that everything is quiet and Deidara hasn’t followed me yet. Closing my eyes, I focus on where I am.

Unable to find out where I am exactly, I start running in a random direction away from the base. Letting my senses take over, I just run and let my mind become empty.

The sun starts setting and things become dark but I just ignore it and continue running. I am still running when everything turns dark around me.

Finally, I reach a break in the trees, causing me to pick up my pace. Around me, I see the sky start to light up and everything become brighter with the morning sun.

Running out of the forest, I come face to face with nothing but sand. Wow, I ran all the way to Suna. Heading off again, I start running again towards the village.

Once I reach the front of it, I see a single guard standing there. Well, this should be easy. Flashing behind him, I hit a pressure point on his neck and he falls limp into my arms. Setting him carefully down on the ground, I make my way into the village.

As I walk down the dusty roads of Suna, I lowly hum and lullaby my mother use to sing to me. Humming the tune, I make my way around the village.

Looking at the little shops, I find one that catches my interest. It was a small little tea shop. Smiling, I walk inside and take a seat. A young man with dark brown hair and green eyes walks up to me with a bright smile on his face.

“What can I get for you today, miss?” He asks, his smile never wavering. I feel myself start smiling slightly at this boy’s care freeness.

“A cup oolong tea, please.” I state, sending him a smile.

“Right away, miss.” He says before walking away.

Getting comfy in my seat, I wait for him to return. I close my eyes and take a moment to rest after my very long run. As I sit there, I feel a presence appear next to me and someone staring.

Opening my eyes, I expect to see Deidara standing there, but instead I find and old woman with a kind smile.

“You look like you could use some company. Would you mind if I joined you?” She asks kindly, holding a warm smile on her face.

“Sure.” I smile back at her. Why not, it’s not like she means any harm. The woman takes my invitation and sit down opposite of me, still staring at me.

“Is something troubling you, dear?” She asks suddenly, cocking her head to the side.

My eyes widen slightly at her immediate statement. Sighing, I decide that telling someone might be a good thing. “Yeah, something is.” I reply dryly.

“Would you like me to help you with it? Why not tell me what’s bothering you?” She states, flashing me a gentle, caring smile.

Just then my tea arrives. Thanking the waiter, I take a sip before nodding. “Well, you see, I’m pregnant.” I state, gesturing to my stomach. The woman says a small congratulations before nodding for me to continue. “But I might die when I give birth. My boyfriend wants to keep the kids and so do I, but I don’t want to die.”

“I was also made a offer from someone. He said he would keep me alive and let me live a happy life if I joined him. If I do, that would mean my children, myself and my boyfriend would live, but then I would be leaving them behind. If I don’t, I might risk killing myself and possibly my children as well as harming everyone I love. I just don’t know what to do anymore.” I whisper, my voice cracking slightly at the end.

The woman nods and reaches a hand out to me, grabbing my hand in her own. “I think you should do what your heart feels is right.” She whispers and sends me a smile before standing up and walking out of the shop.

Standing up, I rush out of the shop after her but when I reach the streets, I see no trace of her. Who was she and why did I feel so trusting towards her?

Shaking my head, I clear my mind and start walking down the street. As I walk, I feel someone following me. Turning around, I see two men dressed in brown standing there.

“You are to come with us.” One of them states, grabbing my arm.

“I don’t have to do anything.” I spit, pulling out of his grip. I go to walk away but his next words stop me in my tracks.

“The Kazekage wishes to speak with you.”
