Sorry for being so absent these past couple weeks. I've been busy getting ready for school and life has been hectic. Anyways, this story is almost over. Only 2 or 3 more chapters at the most. I hope you all enjoy this chapter and leave your comments on what you think.
I apologize in advance to what's going to happen in this chapter. It's sad but it must happen for the story to progress. I hope you all like it and continue to read.

Chapter 35: Lies
*Lilita’s P.o.V.*
A loud smack follows the feeling of stinging in my cheek. Looking at Deidara with shock in my eyes, I feel anger rise up in me but keep it in check.
“Why would you go and do that?” Deidara shouts, his eyes blazing. “Why couldn’t you just rely on us, your family, to protect you? Is that so hard?”
My anger just amplifies and I finally snap. “You know what? It is hard! It’s hard for me to trust people and rely on others. I’ve never done that before! It’s always just been me. Yeah, I might have acted like I trusted you guys but in truth, I was still hiding. I was protecting myself.” I shout, my voice getting softer at the end.
Deidara freezes at my words and looks horror struck. “You never trusted us?”
“Not with my life, no. It was all just an act to keep myself alive and get what I needed.” I state, avoiding his eyes.
“So everything that’s happened, everything between us, has been a lie?” Deidara asks, his gaze turning into a glare.
Gulping, I look him straight in the eyes. “Yes.” Once that word slips out of my mouth, Deidara looks like his whole world has shattered. On the outside, I probably looked emotionless, but on the inside, I was just like Deidara. My whole world was crumbling down around me.
“I see.” Deidara mumbles, hanging his head and avoiding my gaze. “So what happens now?” He composes himself and hides his pain, which I can still clearly see in his eyes. “What will happen to us?”
Sighing, I hold back my tears as I put on the best show of my life, hoping that it will be believable enough to fool Deidara.
“I’m leaving the Akatsuki. You will forget about me and will not come after me. Whatever you do, don’t follow me. Go on with your life as you always have. Just without me.” I state, keeping my pain buried deep inside.
“How can you ask that of me?!” Deidara shouts, fury blazing in his eyes. “How do you expect me to forget about you with all that’s happened between us?” Deidara’s eyes flicker down to my now bulging stomach and linger there before shooting back up to my face.
“I’m sorry that it has to end this way but it must. You must forget about me and anything that has to do with me. Our children will never know either of us, which is what’s best for everyone.” I reply, holding a hand to my stomach.
“Lilita, you can’t do this!” Deidara pleads, pulling me into his arms as if that will stop me from leaving. “I’ll protect you, but please, just stay. Don’t leave me.”
“I wish it was that simple, but it isn’t and I’m truly sorry.” I mumble, pulling away from him. Standing up on my tip toes, I place a soft kiss on his lips before stepping away.
“You can’t leave.” Deidara whispers, looking at me with sad eyes.
“I hope this will make it easier for you.” I mumble as he gets sucked into my Genjutsu. His eyes glaze over and he stands there motionless. Whispering one last goodbye, I disappear into the wind.
As I move farther away from him, I feel my Genjutsu dissipating.
“Lilita!” Deidara’s heartbroken voice carries after me and almost makes me turn around, but I stop myself and continue running away. Why was it so easy for me to run away now?
A lone tear slips out of my eye and rolls down my cheek. Furiously swatting at it, I hold back a scream of frustration.
“I’m sorry Deidara, but this is how it has to be.”

I don’t know where I am anymore but all I know is that I am a long ways away from Amegakure, which means that it will be a while until Pein sends people after me.
Stopping, I jump to the ground and slide down the truck of a tree. Burying my head in my lap, I let the tears escape.
A presence invades my mind and I stop crying. “What do you want?” I hiss at the demon.
‘You did well. He believed every word.’ Kohaku praises, but still keeps her voice sympathetic. ‘I’m sorry that it had to end this way between you to, but it was the only way to protect him.’
“I know, but did you see the look on his face? He was heartbroken!” I sob, feeling myself crumbling into despair.
‘I know, but you had to do it. At least now he doesn’t have to see you when you die; that would break his heart more.’ Kohaku states.
“Your right, but it’s still unfair that I had to do that to him.” I mumble, pushing myself of the ground.
‘You know what will happen when it’s time for you to give birth?’ Kohaku asks.
“Yes.” I state emotionlessly. “I will most likely die.”
