Chapter 7

Two more days until the party at Jason's house.

Party. Nathan. Party. Nathan. Party...

Eeep!! I'm going with Nathan Jones, also known as Red Light. I can't believe this is really going to happen. I don't even know who Jason is. Maybe he's one of Nathan's friends. All I know is that I'm getting very excited by the minute. I should text Stella to go shopping with me tomorrow.

I texted Stella as I was sitting in my room, finishing the last part of the song I had been writing.

Sigh. Friday is going to be a busy day. How am I supposed to sing? I really can't hide this. It's just so hard to hide something you're willing and loving to do.

I should try singing in the shower. Yeah, I should do that.

My phone started to buzz on the desk. It felt like earthquake. I quickly took my phone and checked the screen.

Incoming call; Mariana

"Hello?"

"Brenda? Skype, now!"

"You could've just text me, you know."

"Whatevs, hurry up, hihi!" She replied happily and the line went dead.

Geez, what's with her? Her voice sounded so happy. The last time we skyped, she was nagging about how boring college life is.

I turned on my laptop and went online on Skype and directly got a video call from Mariana.

I clicked 'answer' as my redheaded, brown eyed sister with a huge grin on her face showed up on the screen. Me, Mariana and Chloe looked exactly like each other except the fact that I've got straight hair and they have curly hair.

"Guess what!!" She squealed like a little girl as her grin was getting wider.

I swear if she continued grinning like that, her lips were going to split up, "What?"

"Phoebe asked me out!!"

Wow, it's about time. Mariana really likes him. They've liked each other since high school but they were never really an item. Like the boyfriend, girlfriend kind. Phoebe was too much of a coward to ask her out. At least, they got to go to the same college and become best friends. Maybe it's something called destiny...

"Awe, what did you say?"

"I said no." She replied bluntly.

"You what?!"

"I want him to beg for my love. I mean, I've waited so long." She paused, her eyes shining dreamingly as she took a deep breath before she continued. "He called me and I quote: Hey Ana, uhmm... can you be my girlfriend?"

I stared blankly at her. I didn't know where she was coming from.

She threw her hands up and groaned in annoyance. "He called me, Brenda. Phoebe called me. You just don't do that! So, I replied with a 'no' and ended the call. Where are the flowers? Where's the Cinderella’s dream? Do you get me? Yah feel me?!"

I rolled my eyes. "Look Mariana, I know what you mean. You of all people should know better. Phoebe's very shy. And by shy I mean, he couldn't ask you out five or six years ago."

She let out a cry of frustration in response.

"Wow, where did the all happy from head to toes Mariana go?"
