Chapter 22, Incident part 1

Carter's P.O.V

I threw my bag over my shoulder as I gave one last glance at my own reflection on the mirror in front of me. I smirked as I checked my phone for the time; it was already 7: 30 in the morning and yet I hadn't heard Brenda's alarm went off.

Call me a creeper, but I was her drive to school and because of these thin walls I could hear her alarm going off every morning at the exact same time. Strangely it hadn't gone off yet.

I sighed before walking towards the thin wall that separated my room and Brenda's room. I knocked really hard on it and multiple times, but I didn't get any answer.

"Tomatow, are you mad because I didn't give you a ride yesterday?"

Silence.

"Okay at least say Sexy beast Carter I am alive."

I raised my eyebrow at the continuous silence.

"We're going to get late for school Tomatow."

I was starting to get irritated at her silence and I had to admit that it was also kind of bothering me.

"Stop playing games Tomatow. You don't want me to come to your room and make this personally alright? If you know what I mean." I joked as a smirk grew on my face. I was hoping that the walls didn't exist at that moment so I could see her face. I always loved to see her face when I make a dirty comment or say something about my hotness; she would always make this cute annoyed face.

I huffed tiredly before walking out of my room; on my way out of the house while I dialed her phone number.

Sorry, but the number you are calling is switched off. Plea-

I groaned. Did she have to go that far and even turn off her phone?

I opened my front door, but stopped on my way out when I saw someone was standing right on my doorstep.

My golden haired childhood best friend.

She was sporting a really short blue shorts paired up with one of her all so famous camo tank top. She wasn't very hot back then, but I guess puberty did a good job on her.

Hey, I'm a guy too.

I smirked, "Dian, didn't know you miss me already? We just went out yesterday."

I knew that every time Diana showed up anywhere in front of me is to ask me to go somewhere with her. Couldn't blame her though, she didn't have any other friends. She refused to have girl friends and she even dropped out of school after her dad died. She said it was important, but we never really cared to discuss that matter. I barely knew what she was doing all the time in New York when I had left. I guess I was just too caught up in music.

She grinned, "But I am leaving today."

"I thought you said in two or three days?"

"I guess its change of plans."

I shrugged as I put my hands in my pockets, "Then you came to say goodbye?"

She took one step closer towards me as she frowned, "It sucks though. To see you not really sad about me leaving. It's just the same when I came. I guess friendship does have an end line. I always tried to pass that line though."

"Dia-"

"Start calling me bitch because you won't forgive me after this day. I just want you to know that I will always like you."
