Chapter 17
Moving on was hard, but that was all I was left to do.
I walked to the big blackboard that had all the school’s announcements and important stuffs written on it to see if there was something interesting that the school want to tell us about. A couple of eyes widen when they saw me walking near by them as they hurriedly scurry away. Then again, I chose to ignore them. It was probably something that Nathan had spread around school that made people avoiding me. A kid from freshmen had asked me if I truly had STD, I was on edge to stab his eye with a pencil, but I held it in, smiled and walked away. Like a boss.
I scanned the blackboard. There was a bunch of love confessions for one another and a lot of bad words written on it. I rolled my eyes. Immature, if a teacher ever caught these kids, they would get detention. I spotted a couple of confessions for Carter by anonymous or unfamiliar initials.
It’s not a lie if I told you he had a bunch of secret admires.
There were boxes with school’s newspaper right beneath the blackboard, but something hanging on the wall next to the blackboard caught my eyes. It was a white flyer with ‘Romeo and Juliet’ in red bold letter written on top of it.
I stepped forward to examine the given information before I smiled. They were looking for actors and actresses to act in the school drama play of the year. It was the last day to sign up and show them what you got. The mission was that you had to show them a 30 seconds small act of any chosen character of one of the movies of Romeo and Juliet. After all performances, they would choose the best of all to act in the school play of the year that would occur in the beginning of April.
I still had a chance to sign up so I decided to show them a small act of Juliet after school that took place in the local drama. Since I had watched the movie a million times already, I still remembered a couple of scenes.
“Ehem.” The sudden voice made me jumped as I turned my head to the side. There was a boy standing there that looked about 5’11 feet tall. He had brown eyes and brown bouncy hair that matches his eyes. He was sporting a gray hoodie paired up with khaki shorts and a white hat on top of his head. He had his hands in his hoodie pockets as his head was cocked to the side.
I furrowed my eyebrows as I gave him the can-I-help-you look.
He gave me a warm smile as he asked, “Are you entering that?”
“Enter what?” I asked, clueless. He nodded his towards the flyer.
Oh that.
“Probably, how about you?”
“I already did.”
“Oh really? That’s cool,” I said awkwardly. You don’t see someone randomly talking to you every day now, do you? But since he already entered for the play, he might be useful for some advice, “Did you enter as Romeo?”
“Yup.”
“What did they say after you show them your little act? Did they like it? Do you have some advice for me of how to impress the judges?”
He chuckled at my all so sudden questions, “Nah, they just nodded their heads and dismissed me after I showed them my small act.”
“Oh. Which movie did you choose?”
