Chapter 3

The sun was shining brightly. Sigh. It's Monday again. Yay, another shitty day at school. At least I thought it would be. It's 7:30 am, five more minutes walking until I reach school.

Each step seems harder by the minute. Why is the sun shining so brightly today? Where are the clouds when you need them? I groaned inwardly. My thoughts went back to Saturday night.

"I don't know but I'll look for a job as soon as possible. My son plays the guitar and he sings. He's very talented. He wants to be an artist one day"

Well that suprised me.

Suddenly, Carter spoke up. "Yeah, I love music. Can any of you guys sing?" He asked staring at me.

Shit.

I froze right there in my spot. I stared blankly at him. Why is that shitty face staring at me? Did he? No way..I gulped almost audible.

The table stayed silent for a while, then my mom snickered before shaking her head, "Sing? of course not. This family doesn't have such talent but my oldest daughter is in college. She's studying to be doctor" She smiled proudly. Carter turned his head to my mom.

Relieve washed through me. I mouthed a 'Thank God' to myself. Mom kept on blabbering about how amazing Chloe is as a cheerleader, then I turned my gaze back on my plate. I knew what she's going to say next. Everything about me being lazy and lack of knowledge.

"Oh it's okay. I just asked because I don't know a lot of people who can sing and I want to do a duet with someone one day, well if I ever find someone then" Carter drawled before shrugging.

Yeah keep searching jerk ass. We all want things.

With a loud thud I fell on the ground.

Ouch.

I rubbed my forehead. I had banged my head against a big tree in front of me. I looked around. Since when did they ha-. Oh, I'm already in the hall of my school.

Right, no tree.

Someone shouted 'watch where you're going lame-o' before brushing pass me. A few laugh broke out around me. I rolled my eyes. Mature high school kids, yeah right.

Someone reached their hand out for me. I looked up and saw my blonde best friend smiling down at me. She was wearing a long sleeve button up red and black shirt with a pair of dark jeans. I grabbed her hand and pulled myself up, ignoring the pain on my head.

I groaned loudly.

"Having a bad morning?"
