Chapter 21

"Sppssst, Brenda!" Stella tried to whisper as she kicked the back of my chair hard. My chair pushed forward as my elbow hit my desk that made a loud sound which made everyone in the class turn their heads towards me.

I looked around, smiling awkwardly and apologized to Ms. Lydia, our math teacher. The teacher was shooting daggers at me with her eyes because she hated it when people interrupt her lessons. I mouthed the word 'sorry' again and smiled at her. She rolled her eyes before turning back around to continue writing something on the blackboard.

I slowly turned around to face Stella as I glared at her, "Well that was awkward, thank you very much."

She grinned, "You're welcome!"

I put my finger in front of my lips as I shushed Stella before I slowly looked around to see if anyone was watching or listening. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw that everyone had their heads intensely fixated on what the teacher was going on about. I certainly never understood why my class was so interested in some math sum in contrary with me; I barely pay attention in class since I hated math so much.

I turned back my attention to Stella, "You've got to tone down you voice idiot. Whisper, now what is it?"

"Now what is it?" She whispered.

I rolled my eyes.

She giggled before letting out a full out grin again as she whispered, “I think I’ve just received the most amazing text message ever apart from all other love texts from Mickey.”

“Let me guess; it is still from Mickey isn’t it?”

She flipped her blonde curly hair in the back as she made a clicking sound with her tongue, “Of course darling, but this one is just dif-fe-rent I tell you. Wait for it.”

She sucked in a large amount of breath before letting it out slowly. I gently tapped my fingers on her desk repeatedly and impatiently as I rolled my eyes at her. She always liked to make things ten times more dramatic than it is supposed to be.

Finally after what seemed like an eternity she slowly whispered with a little squeak within her voice, “Angelica may go home today!”

I grinned, “Oh my God, finally! It’s been almost like what? Two weeks? Three weeks?!”

“I know right, to see that beautiful angel of mine in the hospital sucks with those white walls and stupid television that barely have kids channels on it. I’m glad my little girl can go home now.”

“I’m also glad Stella, but just because your dad finally approved to let you date a boyfriend with a child doesn’t mean that she’s automatically your baby girl.”

“Ugh Brenda, stop bursting my bubble, that’s not even cute. And yeah, I know what you mean, but hey can I help it? I’ve already mentally planned our marriage. Might as well already call her my daughter. But only to you, never in front of Mickey until we actually have that marriage.” She said as a faint blush crept onto her cheeks while she was grinning from ear to ear.

I let out a low laugh as I shook my head, “You are so in lo-“

“Miss Brenda Cowell!”

I turned my head so fast towards the teacher that I think I could’ve broken my neck. Ms. Lydia’s voice was a loud, deafening and shrilling noise and it was the last thing you want to hear. When I looked up at her, her face was as red as a tomato and standing next to her was Ms. Francheska, the school’s assistant.
