A Week Before

This person that was meant to totally be out of my life is here. River , he's my step brother that's Amanda's kid. He got sent to boarding school because of his rebellious ways. He's taller than I remember , the last time I saw him was two years ago , he was 14 and I was 13 so of course he's got a lot taller. I can still feel the spoilt vibe from him especially from the white Ralph Lauren polo that he has on. He has light brown hair just like his mother is naturally under her fake bleached mess that is considered hair. He has brown eyes that could almost match the colour of his hair. He rebelled because of his mum marrying my dad. I remember coming home to finding River trashing his room and other rooms in the house. He always had a constant scowl on his face that he never left slip. He also invited his whole year every time my dad and his mum had to travel because of work and have these huge parties. When they got back a lot of Amanda's precious ornaments and expensive paintings would be vandalised and so would most of the walls in the house. So you can imagine he isn't one of my favourite people in the world. I'm standing giving him the death stare while all he can do is smirk which I know is an odd occurrence so either he's actually happy or he's up to something.

"Hello Arabella , its been a long time." River said with a grin.

"Hello River , yes It has been a while." I say through gritted teeth.

"Get kicked out of boarding school?" I say with a fake smile.

"No actually I go to school in the states."

"Where is this school?" I ask suspiciously.

"Its a private school a few streets down for yours." he says while grinning at Callie.

"Why are you in the 'states'?".

"Aw did your father dearest not tell you that he's moving his business to the states but he still is keeping the one in London, so we are staying here in beautiful Brooklyn!".

"No I wasn't told River and you clearly knew that!".

Before River could respond to Me , Alice stepped in and said.

"Wait how do you know each other? , I'm really confused".

"Yes I'm thinking the exact same thing" said Callie and the rest of the group.

"He's my step brother" I say while crossing my arms.

I stand there with my arms crossed focussed on River. My mind is racing of what he wants or he could be a totally changed guy but from that conversation he sounds like that River I knew two years ago. When Callie said it would be a surprise she sure wasn't kidding. I can feel everyone's eyes on me and the cool air that Is coming from the ocean. I start to feel myself shudder so I go and sit with the others still in complete shock and start to feel the heat again. I then feel a tap on my shoulder ,its Callie.

"Hey can I talk to you for a second , in private".

I then pull myself out of my daze and walk away from the little bbq/camp fire we have going on.

"I could feel the tension between you and him I've never seen him like that before".

"Yeah there definailty is , he got rebellious when my dad married his mum so he lashed out and yeah he then got sent to boarding school. Long story short he's not my favourite person because of it."

"Oh okay, I really hope you two can settle your differences because this is going to sound cringey but I've been very happy talking to him and meeting up with him and now being his girlfriend!",

"He also doesn't act like this".

"I hope we can but he is stubborn" I say sounding unsure.

"At least try Ara".

"Alright fine".

She slowly forms a smile on her face.

We then go and join the group around the camp fire.

"So tell us about yourself Mr Ara's step brother" Phoebe asks curiously.

"We'll I am called River as you already know , I play multiple sports , I come from London but grew up in Brighton and Callie is my girlfriend" said River proudly.

Everyone gasps.

"Wait you two go out!" Poppy says whats on everyones minds.

"We'll yeah just didnt want to tell people but now we have so its great!" Said Callie.

Another two figures come walking over and it was Jaspar & Riley , how awkward.
Everyone could see the alarm on my face by seeing River and now the two guys I have been interested in.
Riley sees my expression and instantly feels guilty while Jaspar quickens his pace and takes me to the side waiting for Riley to catch up.

"Listen we have something to tell you" they say in almost perfect unison.
