Gunshots in the Night (Chicago P.D.)

Chapter 1

I smile as I walk up the large stone steps into District 21. When I arrive inside Platt immediately says, in her most sarcastic voice ever, "What did you do to end up here?"

I laugh and say, "I've been moved to intelligence. I guess you'll just have to get used to seeing me around."

Aunt Trudy rolls her eyes and I say, "Just don't expect me to be making lunch runs for you."

We both laugh and then a female officer standing beside me says, "Wait, do you know her sergeant?"

Platt stares her straight in eyes and says, "Of course I know my own niece Burgess. Do I look like some long lost relative to you?"

Burgess puts her hands in the air and walks away in defeat. Aunt Trudy and I both have a good laugh and then she says, "I'll take you upstairs Evelyn."

As we begin our walk up the stairs I say, "Its detective to you."

Platt simply laughs and says, "Then as long as you're in my district detective, I'll be known as sergeant."

I agree and then we arrive in Sergeant Voight's office. He and Aunt Trudy exchange a few words and then he says, "So you're Platt's niece?"

I nod so he says, "Alright. I'm happy to have you here in intelligence. Make sure you do your part and we won't have a problem. Now, I'll introduce you to everyone."

I agree and follow him out of his office. Once we're stationed outside of the door everyone turns to look at us. Voight clears his throat and says, "This is detective Evelyn Platt. She's Platt's niece so unless you want to have to deal with her I suggest you treat Evelyn with respect as she's here to stay."

Everyone nods so he says, "Evelyn, this is Jay Halstead, Kevin Atwater, Alvin Olinsky, Adam Ruzek, Antonio Dawson, and your new partner Erin Lindsay."

I nod and then Lindsay says, "C'mon, I'll show you around."

I agree and follow her.

Hey guys! Thank you all so much for 165 reads! I can't believe that it already has that many after only a prologue.

If you want to read some of my other stuff I have a Chicago Fire and Med fanfic as well as another PD fanfic. I'm also currently doing a 30-day challenge for all 3 shows!

So lately I've been toying with the idea of putting my fanfics on another website as well. I'm not sure yet if I want to so it would be extremely helpful if you could let me know your opinion! -Becca
