Chapter Six

Tris POV.

It's been at least six hours on the train, my legs are very sore so I stand up and move them a little. I find myself pacing after a short while and just stop in my tracks. I move toward the train door and look at the night sky full of stars, I can see Erudite in the distance so I know we must be close to the city. I crouch down next to Tobias and lightly stroke his arm, and his eyes flutter open, and a small smile spreads across his face. "Hey." He almost whispers, there's no wind in the air so I can hear him fine. "We're nearing the city." I tell him gently, as soon as he hears my words he stands up and takes me in his arms and kisses me. I trace his tattoos down his shirt with my index finger, I have them memorized. "Tris," he says.
"Yeah?" I sweetly say. "I think when these problems we keep coming across stop, I think we could start a family, and find a better home. Even get married." He seems so sure of what he's wanting for his future, and I just think I might want that very same future, with the very same person I love and trust, Tobias.

"Time to jump!" He says, the sun rose not to long ago and we are in the city arriving to Dauntless. I look out the train car and see that we are jumping onto the roof, he's okay with this?
"Tobias why don't we just go to the Hub and walk from there?" I suggest,
"No, let's just get home and unpack," he says. "Alright!" I say holding his hand. He quickly lets go and jumps onto the roof and I jump shortly after him, the impact from landing and the weight of my bag I carry shoots through my knees making them buckle, and I collapse. "Tris!" He shouts dropping his own bag, running and picking me up, I laugh a little and say "I'm okay, my knees just buckled that's all." He squeezes my waist and then looks at the ledge of the building, where I was first jumper. He wrings out his hands and just says "Um." I grab his hand and say "I'll go first, don't think, just jump." I let go and walk to the ledge and stand on it, and soon I'm dropping, dropping fast. I then hit the net and shout, "Tobias, could you drop our bags?" I see his hand over the ledge, dropping two bags, which land softly on the net. I reach out and pull them off and yell again, "You've got this! I'm here for you!" I wait a short while and then he hits the net. I reach out for his hand and he takes it and I pull him across, I'm there just in case he needs help getting out, right before he does though I stop him, pull him close to my face and say, "What? You get pushed?" All he says is "Ha-ha." breathlessly, sending a big smile on my face. "We're here!" I say reaching my arms out to the side as if I'm showing him some place new to him. He walks over to me and twirls me in a circle, and says "I can't wait to start over with you." I quickly kiss him, grab our bags and then reach his hand and we walk to his apartment.

I am slightly shocked to see nothing has changed, not a single piece of furniture. I walk over to his bed and gather up the comforter and take deep breathes of it, it still smells like him.
"Do you remember," he starts, as he leans against his small, round kitchen table. "When I brought you here for the first time after the Chasm?" I shudder at the thought of when Al betrayed me, I can still smell the scent of him. Lemongrass. "Yea.." I say looking into my lap, Tobias comes and sits next to me, placing his hand on the small of my back. "It wasn't your fault about Al, Tris, okay?" He says. "Then who's was it?" I almost shout. "The only one who showed him disrespect was me, calling him a coward!" I now shout, "Tris-" he tries to speak "No Four.. just don't." I push him away and get up and walk out the door. I'm going to go back and work things out with him, but right now I need to just clear my head.

Tobias POV.

"Then who's was it?" Tris says, she's getting angry. "The only one who showed him disrespect was me, calling him a coward!" She now shouts. I want to tell her she's wrong because she is, I already told her, Al jumped into the Chasm because he was failing and he obviously didn't want to live Factionless. "Tris-" I start but then she cuts me off. "No four.." she hesitates, "Just don't." She pushes me back and gets up and leaves. She uses that name, Four against me whenever I get on her bad side. I hate when we fight, so I get up and go past the door into the hallway, "Tris wait." I say but I see she's already gone. I sigh and put my face in my hands, looks like I'll have to let her come to me.

It's been all day and I'm starting to get worried about Tris, so I get out of my room and look all over the compound for her. I start off by going to the Pit and I see she's not there, so I go to the place where I first kissed her, on the side of the Chasm. She's not there either. I am walking to the Cafeteria and when I enter, it's empty. The only thing is a black jacket sitting on the bench and a white piece of paper on the table, I walk over and see that it's Tris'. She wouldn't have left the compound would she? I doubted it because we were travelling for so long. I pick up the note and read it, m eyes start to go wide as I finish it. Oh my god.

"I have your girlfriend, if you want her back, come and see me. We need to chat, you're deadline is three days. You don't have to join me on this occasion, but then it would be no better then to shoot her. You know where to find me."

Who could ME be? I know know one by the name of ME. But then it dawns on me, Marcus Eaton.
