Tris POV.

It's been three days. Two days ago I figured out where I was and who I was with, Max. I haven't seen daylight since. I'm in a concrete room which it's pretty dark and chilly. It consists of a dull, pale, ceiling lamp which hangs above a metal chair I sit in, leaving a light ring of light around me. To my left is a mirror which reveals my face being pale, my right eye bloody, and my lips cracked and bleeding. My wrists have deep cuts in them because I have been digging my wrists into the handcuff like metal disks keeping my arms strapped to the chair. I don't mean to cut them, I keep having nightmares and tensing up in my sleep which makes me do that. I'm really scared and I wish Tobias were here to save me. My clothes are ripped and tattered hanging limply to my skinny, skinny body. I can't see past the ring of light from the lamp above me because it's just pitch black beyond it. I hear a door slam shut and I tense up. My first instinct is to pretend I'm asleep which I do. I feel a sharp stingy feeling on my cheek and sit up gasping from surprise. Max stands in front of me with a tray of food. He slapped me.
"You must be hungry." Max says. I hesitantly nod my head, and look down. "You are probably wondering why you're here Beatrice. You're here because Evelyn Johnson, Tobias' mother requested to have you killed. Last time her son spoke to her he said he had left you, with nothing. Turns out that's not the case, and Tobias immediately stopped obeying his mother's rules. So for now, I'm keeping you hostage. I will feed you once a day. Until I get orders to kill you. If you would prefer to die in front of your boyfriend, I can keep him hostage too and then let him go shortly after. Is that something you'd like?" He offers. I look down at my shoes and the only sound I make is the tiny thud of my tear drop hitting my combat boot. "Well when you decide to speak, you let me know." He starts feeding me the food, and when he's finished he punches me, and then injects me with too much peace serum like Marcus did and I go out cold.

Tobias POV.

Myself and the search committee are going to Amity today to look for Tris, she's got to be there.

I jump onto the train and I help the abnegation up one by one. They may not seem like much but they sure can run. We are just exiting the fence when one abnegation speaks up, his name is Dylan, probably around Tris' age, seventeen. "So what does Tris look like? I still haven't gotten a picture of her yet." I hand him a small portrait copy of Tris I gave all of the committee so if they see her, they know. "Thanks." Is all he says. "Alright guys we will be jumping here, if you see something suspicious, report it to me or Johanna after we tell her. Everyone understand?" All of them nod and we begin to jump. We are walking into the compound and Johanna approaches me. "Hello Tobias!" He says offering me her hand to shake which I do. "Hello Johanna, you may have gotten recent news of Tris being missing. Today the search committee and I are going to be searching amity if that's alright." Johanna nods "Yes! The most news we have so far is that she came-" I cut her off saying "I can't talk right now I need to look for Tris." I leave Johanna and start looking in every room, nook, and cranny of Amity. Hopefully I'll find her today.

It's been eight hours and Tris is no where to be found, and I am truly upset. I have looked all through Chicago... and nothing. I don't take the Abnegation with me I just storm away from Amity and go back to Dauntless. I really miss her.

Tris POV.

Max just fed me and now he went back out to wherever it is he goes. I just managed to snag his key while he was feeding me, and I am going to set myself free. I did it. I did it. I can't believe it!!! I get up and look around the room and find a telephone on the wall. YES! I call the Dauntless headquarters and someone picks up. I am going home! "Hello?" They say, it's sounds like a bored lady in her mid fifties. "Hello! Hi! Is there anyone there by the name of Tobias Eaton you could forward me to and fast!?" I say "Yes, wait one moment please." The phone plays one dead note on the line and then someone picks up, Tobias. "Tobias Eaton speaking." "TOBIAS!" I say "Tris? Tris where are you??" He asks "In Amity!" I plead while starting to cry. "Max took me saying we were going to spend the night and then started a rumour saying I went missing!"
"I was just there yesterday I am so glad you're okay, Tris where are you in Amity?"
"I don't know, but I see a ladder."
"Okay slowly and carefully go up and see where you are and don't hang up."
"Okay.." I say with a shaky voice. I cling to the rungs on the ladder and climb up. I push up a lid type of wooden thing, and see I'm under ground in the tornado shelter by the apple trees, and then I see Max walking toward me, and just like that he's running.
I jump down and get to the phone.
"Tobias I'm in the torna-" I'm cut of by Max screaming "Hey!!"
"THE TORNADO SHELTER BY THE-" I yell and then I see nothing but black.
