Missing

Chapter Fourteen

Tris POV.

Tobias is holding my hand while I lay on the metal table in Amity when the doctor speaks up "All done." Tobias squeezes my hand and sighs in relief. Then a female voice behind me says "Perfect." I jerk to face her in surprise and I see Evelyn. "Grab them and follow me." She says. Two guards appear from behind her and wrench my off the table making me weep in pain. Tobias grunts and stiffly moves with them. We are walking towards a car when Tobias head butts a guard and he stumbles back, and with his free arm, punching the other guard. He turns to me and does the same but the other guards regain their balance and pin his arms behind him. And next thing you know, we are off to Erudite, with the new leader and Jeneane, Evelyn.

They end up throwing me and Tobias into two separate cells which are one hundred percent glass and beside one another so we can see each other. They throw Tobias in and he lands on his feet pacing to the door and the back of the cell. I am slumped on the floor from where they threw me. I scoot and sit near the glass wall separating us and put my hand up to it. Tobias finally notices me and sits down matching his hand with mine. It's as if I can feel his warmth through the glass and I sigh. I lean my forehead against the glass and whisper. "I love you Tobias." He looks at his shoes and says it back. I don't know what is next to come but I don't know if I can take much more of it.
