Chapter Seventeen

Tris POV.

I wake up to Evelyn in our cell. "Good morning Tris and Tobias." She says
"Tris you were put in his cell because that's what you requested a couple days ago. I said only if I choose to kill you. Please... Don't be frightened." I can feel Tobias grip my hip a little tighter. "I want to show you and my son that I have a heart, and that future Tobias told me about sounded, perfect. So I let you be with him, and I am also letting you live." She finishes. I look at Tobias and I start crying and I kiss him as he holds my face in his hands. I then stand up and ask "May I?" With open arms. "Why not?" Evelyn says. I hug her and whisper in her ear, "Thank you so much Evelyn, it's so relieving to know that our peace has finally came around." She pulls away "I'm happy to know that. And I am very glad to have come to a compromise with you. She says smiling. Tobias come up from behind me and twirls me in a circle kissing me passionately, and then he goes to hug his mom. After a short while of hugs and talking we are released and we get to go back to Tobias apartment.

The first thing I do when I get there is go have a shower. Tobias goes off into his kitchen. I let the warm water run down my back as if cleansing my spine. And then I just wash up and get clean.

When I leave the shower I go out in shorts and one of Tobias shirts. I smell chocolate cake and when I see Tobias has set up a table, I sit down and we start to eat the cake. I grab his hand. We are no longer two broken people, and we have healed each other every passing day that came until we were pure again.

Seven months later...
Tobias POV.

Today's the day I propose to the woman I love, Tris. I told her to meet me at the ferris at five o' clock. It's currently four fifty and I'm making my way to the old fair ride now.

When I arrive she is standing there so slim and strong, beautiful. I kiss her and then take her hand "we aren't actually climbing this thing are we Tobias?"
"You bet!" I say with a smile.
"You're crazy what's gotten into you?" She says laughing. We are eventually right beside one of the cars and I jump into it, making it swing a little, me and Zeke took out the pole in the centre of the car and replaced it with a table and took out the umbrella at the top so we can see the sky. Tris jumps in right after me and notices the candles and dinner table set up, and she blushes. "This is so beautiful Hun, I'm very impressed!" She says sitting down. I open my picnic basket and take out our dinner of steak, wine marinated mushrooms, and champagne.

After we are done eating, I take Tris' hand, and lead her to the spot where we were when we played the capture the flag game. I hold her by the waist and pull her in for a kiss. She wraps her arms around my neck and stands on her tip toes. After a while of kissing back up and say "Whoaaah." With wide eyes.
"What is it?" She asks I then pretend to trip and Tris gasps grabbing into my arm when really I'm getting down on one knee. She notices and blushes and when I pull out a small box her eyes fill with tears and she cups one side of her face covering her cheek.
"Beatrice Prior, you've make my life complete, made me whole, you've even turned my mother into a great woman again. And how can someone do that? With magical powers maybe. Or maybe a genetically pure heart that can steal anyone's just by looking at you in the eye. I fell for you when you fell literally into Dauntless, and God.. I have never stopped loving you since. You're one of a kind and I'm eternally lucky to be the one I call my future wife, so Beatrice Prior, will you marry me?" I finish as I reveal the grey diamond with ten super tiny black diamonds surrounding it.
She just nods because she's crying and then I slip it into her finger and I kiss her with so much passion I almost go dizzy. When she pulls away she looks at the ring. "I got it custom made for you, it's a grey diamond for abnegation and the ten black diamonds mean us as dauntless because four plus six equals ten." I say looking into her eyes.
"It's truly beautiful Tobias." I then take her to the tower where she found Eric's team's flag, and I set up our sleeping bags and we lay, staring at the stars and eventually fall into deep sleep.
