"Morning," I chirped as Brooke walked into the dorm room that morning.

Brooke waved her hand sleepily and dismissively.

"I'm guessing Nathan dropped you off..." She yawned and belly-flopped onto her bed.

I nodded my head and finished tying my hair into a side braid.

"Yeah? Wait, where did you stay?" I asked, confused. I pulled out my phone and started playing angry birds.

"Went back to Max's flat off campus. Me, the guys and Ally but Nathan didn't come back," Brooke mumbled. I frowned a little.

"Maybe he went home? Wait, does he live on campus?" I asked.

She shook her head, "no. Jay does though but Nathan lives... No idea where Nathan lives actually." Brooke answered before shrugging.

"So you done your notes?" She asked, getting off her bed and finding some new clothes.

I nodded my head.

"Yep. You know, we don't have to go shopping if you don't want to. If you're tired the you can take a nap or something," I suggested. Brooke shook her head determinedly.

"We're going. Give me a minute to change and then we'll leave." She said.

I nodded my head and put my notes away while she got changed. When she was done we headed down the flight of stairs and outside to her car.

"So don't you have a car?" Brooke asked as we got into her car and she drove into the busy town.

I shook my head, "left it in California, need to get one." I mumbled.

She nodded her head, "ok, clothes first... Here we go." Brooke said finding somewhere to park before we got out.

We started walking into the town and Brooke took me into New Look, "right Autumn is in since its nearly the end of September... We'll get you new jeans, these skater skirts, a few tops and jumpers." Brooke mumbled before pulling me over to the jeans section.

After hours of me trying clothes on one after another in different shops it was finally time to head back to the dorm. I got a hot chocolate from costa while Brooke got a drink from Starbucks, "I heard about Nathan beating the shit out of that guy... He was looking out for you, Ally was pissed." Brooke noted as we drove back to campus. I frowned

"Why is she pissed?" I asked.

"Well according to her, Nathan is 'hers'. She's really controlling. But don't worry, she'll be after a new guy in under a week and Nathan will be after a new girl in under a week," Brooke said before talking about last night at Max's.

I kind of faded out and thought about Nathan. I hope he's ok.

**

We went back into the dorm room laughing at Brooke's story of Jay falling over. Once inside, we saw Nathan casually lounging on my bed, watching TV. He was wearing a red vest with a muscular arm behind his head. The area around his lip ring was cut and his eye had some minor bruising - nothing big enough to give him a black eye.

"Out." Ordered Brooke as she dumped all of our bags onto her bed.

"Moody," he smirked after winking at me.

Brooke glared at him and he gave her a cheeky grin before he glared at me. What? One minute he is winking at me now he's glaring? Bloody hell. He has more mood changes than a girl on her period.

"Coming from you." I mumbled quietly.

Brooke giggled while Nathan glared at me harshly making my cheeks flush. Maybe I should have said that more quietly.

"You have shit signal here," he muttered flipping through the channels.

Brooke rolled her eyes and began putting my new clothes away for me, "then go back to your place! You aren't wanted here." Brooke said, rolling her eyes.

Nathan rolled his eyes, "but I'm bored! Jay is hungover, Max is at football practice, Tom is actually doing class work and Siva is doing something - I don't keep up with him. He's either doing work or checking himself in the mirror."

"Then go see Ally?" I suggested. Nathan glared at me.

"She's pissed at me because I punched a guy. Thanks for that Alexis."

"It's Lexi!" I grumbled.

He rolled his eyes, "sure. Whatever - New Girl. Brooke can't we do what we use to do?" Nathan suggested raising an eyebrow.

Brooke finished putting my clothes away while I frowned yet again.
"Nathan, no, stop it. Go and find some poor lonely girl to annoy, not us." Brooke answered.

"What do you mean 'use to do'?" I asked. Nathan was smirking again.

"We used to be fuck buddies." he answered casually. I couldn't conceal my shock. I couldn't hide my emotions as well as Nathan.

"Oh..." I mumbled and looked down at my black converse.

"Yeah, now go talk to Ally or annoy someone else," Brooke said sitting in her chair by her dresser as she started to brush through her hair.

"But I like annoying you two! Fine. Since Brooke is being a bitch looks like I'm left with you, New Girl. What do you say Alexis? Up for going to the cinema?" He asked.

I rolled my eyes, "Just get out," I shook my head.

"Bitch." He snapped and glared at me before storming out of the dorm room and slamming the door shut.

"Well at least he listened to you. One minute he's a rude punk guy then the next it's like he's a child or something." Brooke said.

"I think he only listened because we were annoying him. I'm going to check through my notes one last time for tomorrow's classes." I shrugged and got my books out.

"Sure, I'll order pizza. You like BBQ?" Brooke asked getting her phone out and dialing the number for the pizza place.

I nodded my head, "Yep," I mumbled checking my notes.

**

At 7:30am my alarm went off. I quickly hit the snooze button so I wouldn't wake up Brooke. First day of classes today. I rubbed my eyes as I stood up before going through my drawers and cupboard to find some clothes. I pulled out a pair of black skinny jeans with a grey t-shirt that had a faded American flag on it. I grabbed my underwear and put my clothes for the day on my bed. I grabbed my toiletries bag and my towels before heading down to the shower room. I went into an empty shower and pulled the shower curtain close. I stripped off and threw my clothes outside before turning on the warm water.

The jet of warm water soothed my tense muscles instantly and I relaxed. I bent down and picked up a shampoo bottle before squirting a generous amount of it onto my hair. I rinsed my hair and washed my body as well. I also made sure to shave my legs and under my arms. Once I was done, I turned the shower off and grabbed my towel from the side. I wrapped it around myself. I felt so much better after that.

I stepped out of the shower and was shocked to see Nathan leaning against the wall. I didn't hear him come in. He smirked when he saw me, his eyes trailing down my body, I tried to pull the towel lower down without revealing too much cleavage as it only reached my thigh.

"What are you doing here?" I snapped at him.

"I need a shower. I slept on this dorm floor last night," he answered, leaning back against the tiled wall while staring at my body. I wrapped my towel around myself tightly.

I frowned before realizing he had slept with one of the girls on this floor.

"Then go down to the boys showers, you pervert!" I cried.

"Why? I quite like the view," he looked me up and down before winking at me.

I rolled my eyes, knowing he wouldn't leave. I went over to the sink and brushed my teeth, trying to ignore Nathan. After brushing my teeth, I got my other towel and started to dry my hair before I brushed through it. I wiped off any water off my face before adding my moisturizer, "I thought you were getting a shower! Why are you just looking at me?" I asked Nathan, realizing he still hadn't got into the shower. I felt extremely self-conscious.

Nathan shrugged before taking his shirt off to revel a small tattoo of a star on the left side of his chest. He slipped off his jeans leaving him in just his boxers.

"Enjoying the show?" He winked suggestively. I rolled my eyes in disgust.

"No," I scoffed.

"Well, unless you plan on joining me in the shower..." He trailed off and started taking his boxers off.

I grabbed my things and quickly walked past him while he laughed.

I went back into the dorm room and quickly changed into my clothes. I plugged in the hairdryer and began drying my hair. After drying my hair, I plugged in the straighteners, I hate having wavy hair after showering.

I checked the time, 8:15am. I grabbed my bag which I had packed the night before. I checked outside the window and to my dismay, it was raining. I went over to my cupboard and got a black leather jacket and slipped it on before getting my black converse on. I left the dorm room.

I headed outside the dorm block and went over to the drink stand.

"Hot chocolate, please," I said to the man inside the van.

"With cream and marshmallows?" He asked sorting my drink out.

"Please," I nodded. I fumbled around in my pockets trying to find my purse. I knew it was in here somewhere.

"Make that 2," a deep voice said coming up beside me.

I groaned mentally as Nathan smirked at me.

"£5 then," the man said handing over my hot chocolate.

I successfully found my purse and was pulling it out when Nathan handed the man a five-pound note.

"I was going to pay," I complained about to stomp off. I didn't expect a reply.

Nathan grinned as the rain came down harder.

"Well I did. What's your first class? Considering you have two," Nathan asked.

"History," I mumbled looking around for the building.

"Me too. C'mon New Girl, I'll show you where it is," Nathan said and started walking off.

"I thought you stopped being nice?" I asked.

He rolled his eyes and went back to glaring at me. Way to go, Lexi.

"Fine I won't help you, you can find it on your own," he snapped and walked quicker.

I sighed before running to catch up with him while being careful not to drop my bag or spill my drink.

"I'm sorry!" I shouted to him as my hair stuck to my face. Stupid English weather, you wouldn't get this in California.

Nathan didn't turn around but he did stop walking. I smiled. I quickly caught up with him. He said nothing before walking off towards History.

**

I sat down in History, finishing my drink before looking for a bin. I stood up, leaving my bag on my chair near the back. Nathan had left as soon as he came in. Weird. I finally found a bin in the lecture room and threw it away. I turned around and felt myself collide with someone's chest.

"Oh! I'm so sorry!" I apologized immediately.

"No worries. Hey, you're Lexi? New girl, right? I'm Ben. You met me at the party, remember?" Ben introduced.
He was pretty attractive. Tanned, brown eyes, and brown hair styled into a quiff. I could see signs of a six-pack under his T-Shirt. Wait, who wears a T-shirt in the rain?

"Oh! Right, yeah during truth or dare..." I said, thinking back to the night of the party. The night when Nathan had helped me. He laughed, obviously remembering too.

"Right, yeah. Where are you sitting?" He asked.

I pointed to my seat near the back.
"Over there, how about you?" I asked.

"Well, I'll sit next to you," he said giving me a grin.

I noticed that he didn't have any tattoos but I thought that about Nathan until he took his shirt off. Would I mind if Ben took his shirt off. Nope I wouldn't mind. I imagined a shirtless Ben.

I blushed a little but nodded my head before sitting back in my seat and Ben came and sat down next to me.

"So do you just do History?" Ben asked.

"Also literature," I said, smiling.

He looked shocked, "Oh, wow. That's pretty cool. What's your favourite time period?" He asked sincerely.

"Erm, maybe the industrial period, we learned a lot from them to get us where we are now, but I do like the 1700's," I smiled.

Ben nodded his head, "I like the civil war, it's cool." He grinned before the professor came in. I smiled. Finally, a boy with a brain.

Ten minutes later, Nathan walked into the class without any objections from the professor. He came and sat down on my other side without an explanation.

'It's none of your business! Now focus!' said a voice in my head. Curiosity got the best of me.

"Where were you?" I asked quietly as I scribbled down some notes.

"None of your business." He snapped.

I frowned before leaning more away from him and closer to Ben, at least Ben didn't have anger issues. Nathan didn't write down any notes he just glared at the table. What was his problem now?
