Dan's POV

"I don't know why we were stressing out so much on that math test it was actually really ea-" I rambled.

"Hey babe." Marshall interrupted as he kissed Aurora's cheek. She looked up at him and smiled. I couldn't help but notice that he's been a little off lately, I mean if Aurora's happy I'm happy. It seems impossible to be with her, but a boy can dream...right?

We've been best friends since we were three, and I don't want to loose her. That would be fourteen years of friendship down the drain because of a potential breakup.

"Babe, I'm going to a party tonight, you're my plus one. You can bring Smith if you really wanted to."

Aurora agreed and told me I could tag along. I mentally roll my eyes. "As I was saying, before I got rudely interrupted, the math test was actually really easy, we woke up unnecessarily early for a Friday morning. ". I swear to god, Marshall narrowed his eyes at me for a second. He tightened his grip around Aurora and checked out the girl that walked past us. Before I could say anything the two walked away. Unbelievable. He was a typical fuckboy, he slept around and broke girls hearts. I tried to warn Aurora about him but she refused to listen. And dismissed them as rumours.  I mean, that's what best friends do right? warn each other about bad people and always have their backs?

"Bye Dan, see you at lunch." she waved. I sighed. Is it bad to fall in love with you're best friend?

My watch read 11:00 pm The party started at 9:30 so the party was fully fledged by now. Drunk teenagers exiting the huge double story house and stumbling all over the place. In all honesty, going to parties isn't a reoccurring thing for me, I get invited to a few here and there or I get dragged along with Aurora.

She walked in hand in hand with Marshall, me following shortly after. We didn't live far from the party so we didn't need a designated driver.

It's been I think over an hour now and I think the so-called-alcohol-free punch has been spiked so it's now 100% vodka and 0% juice. I drink it anyways because the vodka doesn't burn my throat anymore, fuck it, I'm already tipsy I say in my head as I chug down a bottle of beer. "And just to clarify, no, I am not drunk, I'm tipsy." Oh shit did I just say that out loud? Maybe I am kinda drunk.

I scan the room for Aurora, where could she be? I look over to the couch to see Marshall on top of a girl. I walk over to them to discover it wan't Aurora. I glare at him and I raise my fist up into the air and take a swing at him, straight in the face. "You fucking asshole! How could you do that to Aurora!?" I growled. I searched the whole house for her. I went upstairs and heard muffled cries coming from what seems like the closet. It was her. She looked up, her eyes all red and puffy, her eyeliner smudging ever-so-slightly."Aurora, love, come here." I enveloped her into a tight hug.

"Can we leave?" she squeaked. I nodded and led her out of the house. "I don't want to go home yet Dan, can we go to the shops and get some beer or something? I-I really want to forget this night."

We were sat in a park, nothing but the light of the moon shone upon us.
We were two drunk and reckless seventeen year olds with nowhere else to go.
We were way too drunk to go home and lastly, we were too drunk to care.

Somehow, it was six in the morning. The night was a blur, memories seemed to have vanished into thin air.

"Remember, Danny, remember when you used to wake me up at this time just to watch the sun rise? I miss that. I miss being a little kid." she said softly. It felt like we were five again. It felt like nothing in the world mattered. It felt like I travelled back in time. It felt like I was gazing at the beautiful pink sunrise on her window sill again.

We sat in a comfortable silence. I looked down at her, her emerald green eyes shining in the moonlight, a small drunken smile never leaving her lips. Fuck it I think to myself. I leaned in, so did she and without hesitation our lips connected, slowly moving in sync. As I cup her cheek, she breaks away.

"Dan-we-I-I gotta go. I'm sorry." She stuttered.

Good job Daniel, you've really fucked up this time.
