"Seriously? You're going on a date with the farmboy?" Risha asked, eyebrow raised.

"Yeah, I am. So?" I responded.

Risha rolled her eyes. "Ok, whatever"

"You sure you're ok with this?" Corso asked, nervous.

"Corso, i've told you, I'd much rather be out here than in a cantina. I enjoy the quiet." I reassured him.

"Ok" He said. I caught him glancing at my hand again and blushing. He's been in an argument with himself for the past hour.

I shook my head and took his hand. I felt him jump. Smiling, I told him, "You know, you don't need to ask my permission to hold my hand. I don't mind"

He blushed and turned towards one of the flowers we were walking past. After my insistance that I didn't want to go to some fancy place for dinner or anything similar, we decided to take a walk in Coruscant's garden of justice (really cheesy name, I know). The place was beautiful. I loved looking at all the exotic plants with colors i've never seen before and hearing the sound of the rushing water.

"Corso, how did you know i'd like this place so much?" I asked.

I saw a sly smile in his eyes. "I remembered that you said something about it the first time we came to Coruscant. Complaining about not being able to look at it because of Skavak"

My jaw dropped. He remebered that?

"Yes, I remembered" Corso laughed

I stopped walking and covered my face with both my hands. Of course i slipped up and spoke out loud. I'm pretty sure my face was a similar color to my hair. I tensed when I felt Corso grasp my hands and move them to my side.

"Don't hide your face" Corso whispered. I nodded, unable to speak. He flashed a smile and we continued walking, hand in hand, talking about the flowers and plants and whatever that one thing was. When I saw this one bush of pink flowers I let go of his hand and rushed over. I had always wondered what they were.

As I was reading the informational nameplate, which told me that they were from a planet on the rim called Rishi, I saw Corso appear beside me out of the corner of my eye.

"Hey Captain, don't run off like that. I almost lost ya. What are these?" he asked, leaning forward to look at the info plate.

"Rishi flowers, apparently. I had seen them all over the place as decorations in the senate tower and some cantinas across the galaxy. I had always thought they were pretty, but I never knew what they were called, so oh my stars i'm sorry"

I had been moving my hands around while I was babbling and accidentally smacked him square on the arm. Corso was rubbing the hurt area, but he was smiling at me. "It's fine Captain" he chuckled. I relaxed; I was worried I had hurt him. He glanced over and we both watched as one of the flowers fell off the bush with a quiet snap. He caught it before it could fly off in the wind, and held it out to me. I took it, and looked at how the small petals folded over each other.

"Beautiful" I breathed.

"You sure are" Corso said.

My eyes widened as I realized what he had just said. "Corso!" I squeaked. Dammit Nova you do not squeak. Why are three words making me so... nervous? I've faced armies before without breaking a sweat! And yet Corso calls me beautiful and I... suddenly can almost believe I am.

I carefully pocketed the flower, both because I wanted to keep it as undamaged as possible and because I wanted to use the time to avoid looking into his eyes. I don't think my beating heart could handle that at the moment.

Once I was sure the flower was safe, I looked back at him and sucked in a breath as I realized he had stepped closer to me. He reached around my waist and pulled me towards him, looking straight into my eyes. My heart was trying to escape my chest. Time seemed to have slown down as he leaned closer and closer.

To me, the kiss seemed to last forever, but to the rest of the galaxy it lasted just a second. That was all I needed to smile wide and for butterflies to appear in my stomach. I was about to lean in for another kiss, but the holotransmitter in my pocket ringed. I considered smashing the thing for a moment but decided not too. Pulling the transmitter out of my pocket, I pressed the on button and Risha's image popped up.

"What do you want Risha?" I snapped. I felt Corso's fingers entwine with mine on my free hand.

"I'm sorry to interupt you two" no you're not. I thought, annoyed. "But customs check is in an hour and we do not want to be here when they show up."

"We'll be there." I said, ending the call before she has a chance to respond.

I turned to look at Corso, who was laughing. "Hey." I said, hurt.

"Captain, you're funny, you know that?" He said before planting a kiss on my cheek. I smiled, rolling my eyes. "Let's get going" he said.

And with that, we walked hand in hand to the spaceport.
