It's been a couple of days already and you, along with the other staff members of the cafe were able to come up with an idea for improving the poor publicity - It was a crazy idea! So crazy that it might actually work.
"You want to revamp the cafe into a what?" Harrison enquired in disbelief, he couldn't believe what his old ears were hearing. He was a man of old fashion and couldn't - more like, wouldn't - comprehend the idea that you proposed.
"A Neko-Maid cafe!" Willow beamed, eyes seeming to sparkle with the brightness of the idea that she introduced with just as much energy.
"It'll be the only one of it's kind in the entire city!" Theo further explained. There was a flash of uncertainty and anxiousness that dimly glistened in the elder's ash grey eyes.
"Yeah, so we'll be able to catch new customers and with the amazing pastries and food we prepare already, I'm sure that it'll be a hit!" Owen encouraged. He was the one behind gathering all of you together to come up with an idea to make the cafe a success again. The boys stated that maid-cafes were getting really popular but the best ones were in another city, the few that are in the town you're living in weren't as high quality; they try to be, but fail within most areas, mainly the food and service. The girls (not you included as you weren't one to think up creative ideas very quickly) added saying to be neko-maids. They said that they wanted the cafe to have a uniqueness to it and get to have that be reflected in the costumes they'll be needing to wear. It was the prefect idea and all of you had rushed to Harrison's residence - on an off day - to put forward your suggestion.
"I don't know. It takes a lot of money to renovate an entire cafe, we're already struggling to pay off our debt. A renovation would only lengthen the bill. I'm sorry everyone but I just can't do that. It's easier said then done." your grey haired boss was about to turn away and re-enter his traditional Japanese home if it weren't for a shout.
"Wait!" everyone turned to face you. They were solemn just moments ago by what Harrison had to say about their proposition, but a glint of hope shone in their eyes once you had spoken up and caught their attention. "I-..." you looked down and took a shaky breath in order to take the trembling out of your voice, then, you looked up with a determined expression, "I think I can be of some help to that." Harrison lifted a brow. You were about to voice yet another proposition but stopped when Harrison raised a hand.
"Alright...I'll hear you out but come inside first, and we'll talk there." everyone smiled and stepped inside, where Harrison lead you all to the living space. There was a small kotatsu [1] placed in the centre of the room with a TV placed in a corner, atop a small table, a wooden sliding door that had a pale, softly browned translucent paper in a square-like patterned frame, stood at the side and - when opened - looked out into a spacious garden, which a koi fish pond occupied . "Darcy!" the old male called to his wife.
"Yes dear?" someone called back in reply - a gentle and fragile voice of an old lady.
"Can you please prepare some tea? We have guests."
"Oh? How many?" Harrison quickly did a head count, everyone was here: Mason, Valentino, Theo, Owen, Adam, Jonathan, the twins (Phoebe and Penelope), Eloise, Ava, Willow, Harriet and you.
"13."
"I'll be there in a minute or two then."
"Thank you."
Everyone settled down comfortably. Harrison said to wait until Darcy came, then, would be the perfect time to voice your solution to the earlier stated problem. On the dot, Darcy came into the room after two minutes, with a dark-brown wooden tray of Japanese tea cups and pot full of hot water, her eyes widened at the sight of all of us but softened after a moment. She set the tray down and poured everyone a cup of tea, just as she was about to pour the last cup, Harrison gave you a nod of the head, indicating that you can say what you've wanted to say.
