Chapter 22

*Narutos POV*

Thank you for everything Sasuke.. Take care.
I smiled and tossed him out of the way.

*Sasukes POV*

NARUTO!!
I yelled with tears in my eyes..
Next thing I knew I was laying face down in the sand.
I was unconscious for a few seconds but I snapped out of it running towards where the missle hit.
Naruto! Naruto wake up damnit!
I picked up his body running towards where the frontlines are.
I'm not letting you die.. not yet..
Sa..sasuke..
I heard a faint voice call my name, I stopped and eased him down.
Naruto.. c'mon you gotta hang in there please..
He gave a smile with blood dripping down his face.
Stop.. sasuke..
Run. There's more coming our way.
No! No way! Im not leaving your side Naruto.
You have no choice Sasuke he said coughing up blood.
Don't tell me I have no choice idiot! I'm going to stay and fight with you.. theres no way I'm leaving you behind.

*Narutos POV*
Damnit Sasuke!!
Listen to me for once. If you dont go our soldiers are going to get ambushed and all of this shit would have been for nothing. Now get your ass up and go warn everyone before its to fucking late.
Im already dieing..I've accepted the fucking fact.
I looked at him smiling. Please Sasuke, do this for me.
Sasuke looked at me with tears falling from his eyes.
I gave a small laugh..
Cry baby.
Shut the fuck up loser. He said with a small laugh.
I reached in my tin container and opened it, take this Sasuke. Each one has a name on it, give it to them for me please..
He grabbed the letters and put them in his jacket.
I'll be back Naruto.
You're not dieing on me just yet. We have a lot of things we still need to take care of back home.
Alright Sasuke. I told him trying to ease his mind..
Now go, there getting closer.

I watched as he was running till I couldn't see him anymore.
I layed in the sand bleeding everywhere.

I knew he'd believe my lie..
Sasuke you can be so stupid sometimes. I laughed to myself.
No one was coming for us. Truth is.. I just wanted to save everyone from that missle. I played it off till the end.. I'd rather have one life killed than 80 of us..
By the time he figures everything out it'll be to late. Im just glad I got the chance to make something of myself. I saved peoples lives.. I saved my bestfriends life.. I just wish I could save her from the pain she's going to go through..
I love you Hinata. Please forgive me.
I layed still bleeding out everywhere, everything was starting to slowly fade..
*30 min. Later*
Naruto!!!
Sasuke yelled with anger and sorrow in his voice..
Im too late.. Please forgive me..Naruto..
I held him in my arms breaking down over his lifeless body..

* 3 weeks later*

The war was over now we won and everyone was on the airplanes heading back home.
Everyone was cheering and happy.
Hey! Sasuke! C'mon we're sorry about your pal but be happy! The wars over we're going home now! A drunk soldier said as he spilt beer everywhere on the ground.

Leave me the fuck alone. Im not in the mood.

You're not the only one who lost someone you know! We've lost hundreds of soldiers!

I looked at the guy across from me who said it. I felt rage start to boil beneath me and I lunged forward towards him, my sword sticking straight towards him almost piercing his heart.
I stopped only a couple inches away from the guy not because I wanted to but because I couldn't move.. Shikamaru used his shadow possession to stop me.
Sasuke! He yelled.
Put the sword down. I know what your going through he was my friend too. But killing this guy wont solve anything. It won't bring him back to life.

*Shikamarus POV*
I caught him just in time.
Man this guys strong. Its taking a lot to hold him back.
Ugh.
Wh..what!
*Sasuke broke the possession and went back towards his seat.*
He.. he broke my shadow..
This guys more than strong..
I'd hate to be his opponent in battle..
Whatever at least he's back in his seat.
I walked back to my seat and gave out a long sigh. Man I just want to go home and sleep..

*Sasukes POV*

I sat back down in my seat and stood quiet the whole ride back.
Man.. what am I going to tell Minato.. and what about Hinata..
Why'd you have to do this to me Naruto..

I slouched over and heard a scrunching noise come from the inside of my jacket. I unzipped it and grabbed out the letters Naruto gave me.
I stared at them. I realised one of them had my name on it.. I took a deep breath and opened the folded papers.

Sasuke,
If you're reading this letter then I guess it's because I didnt make it out. Man we've had a good run you and I, theres so much I haven't had the chance to tell you. Well for starters Im leaving the company that we've dreamt of running in your hands now. I talked to my father and he had the company already being made the day we left for war. So when you return home it should be done, pick out a great name for it. I only ask of two thing from you. Take care of Hinata for me, you are the only one I trust that won't let anything happen to her. You know how much I adored her, now it's your choice to live that simple life with her or not. But please, protect her for me and watch over her. The company is in her name as well, she has my portion. So money shouldn't be an issue.
The second thing I ask, please take care of yourself. May you live a long and healthy life. I love you brother. I'll see you when it's time.

I folded up the letters and placed them back into my pocket. I sat in silence the rest of the way back.
