Chapter 13 - Lauren and me

*Ember pov*
It's been 20 minutes and we still couldn't find the number. It's obvious that the last two digits will not help us at all.
"I don't think so we can find it like this" Alex looks up from the laptop and tells me.
"Hmm I think we need the get back to class and hold up the search for now"
"See that's the problem with you. You can't do anything at a stretch. You give up easily I should have known"

"Oh please now don't start. And I don't give up on anything so easily. I'm just saying we will resume that's all. We will start again once we find more clues" I shut the directory book and almost stand but am pulled back by alex "I think the messages will help us in anyway"
"Hmm......maybe"
"Ok for now we will just close this. As soon as you get the next message it's better to start working"
I nod and take the directory and place it in the backshelf. Alex takes the laptop and puts it in the cart signing his name. We both get out of the library and go back to our classes.

*Alex pov*

The reason I helped ember is because it happened to me also. Not because I care for her. But I found one thing and I didn't want to tell it to ember. The messages I received were after I had a fight with ember and the messages she received were after she encountered with me. That means the messages are about her and me. Her to me and me to her

But why would somebody be interested in our business?!?

I think......

Could it be wayne?

No I am definitely wrong on this. He is innocent and he wouldn't dare to do such a thing.

Could it be lauren? I don't think so. She's my girlfriend and she isn't this cheap type.

Yea she is my girlfriend.

I asked her to be my girlfriend and she readily agreed. At that point I just asked her because I wanted to know more about ember but now I feel Lauren is pure hearted. She is not like the rest of the girls. Ember and Lauren are two diferent people I've ever encountered with. That's what makes me curious about *smirk*

Anyways we have no classes today I should meet her later today

**evening**

I text Lauren and ask her to come to let me and she agrees

I spot her walking towards me. She has blond hair and blue sparkly eyes. And she is really skinny and to me she's really tiny compared to my muscular self. Ember is the same but I think her brunette looks make her a little bit bold yet skinny.

She approches me and smiles at me "hey" she says "hi" I say back and come close to her but my hand still in my pocket "so what's the occasion you called me for?"
"Nothing, I just wanted to spend time with you since it's been a long time"
She smiles and hugs me. For a minute it takes me a while to battle with myself to hug back but I just give in and wrap my arms around her and embrace her.
"I missed you" she whispers
I smile "I missed you too"
After a while, she pulls back and lifts her head to see me with those blue sparkly eyes. Her look is very soft yet soothing.
Her smile is very timid yet bold enough. Her hair is very soft and long and I love to play with it. Her figure is absolutely a flattering one.
And she does dress up decently.

Overall she's beautiful and intelligent too.

Hmm this is a good progress that I am mesmerized by someone so beautiful after a long time.

I haven't said the three golden words because honestly I havent figured that out yet and I don't wanna hurt myself with those words coming out of my mouth which is fake to me. And I'm not ready for any commitment. After Alice this is my first relationship.

My intentions were different at the start of this relationship but now I'm ok with this outcome.

I lean in to kiss and she leans in too. I always take the initiative so nothing special this time. I kiss her soft lips gently caressing her back bringing her close to me. I hold her hand entwining our fingers and leaving no much space between us. It been a long time I've kissed a girl so passionately.

She does kiss me back but pulls off a little bit soon. She smiles again and hugs me this time real tight.
"Are you ok?" I am really concerned because she doesn't really break the kiss and now she is hugging me so tight

"Mm yea I just missed you" I smile. Those words actually make sense to me now because all this while those words were a joke to me but now it feels beautiful and like a song to my ears

She pulls back again "I think we should go now, it's too late already " she pulls off me completely and it feels like the warmth from her has left me. It's like I'm missing something so precious. She waves at me and turns around to leave but I pull her back "please don't leave" I pout

After a inner battle in her brain I guess, she agrees to stay and we sit on the basketball court embracing each others presence
"Did you eat? I heard you were not well"
"Yea I ate. Ember got me some vegetable soup and some noodles. I'm fine now I think I ate something bad that's all"

"Mm good"

Never knew ember helps. Ah right she's her best friend.

I push away the 'ember' thoughts because for now it is just Lauren and me.

A good 30 minutes pass and we just kept talking about random things and laughing about. I feel really nice about this whole situation and I wish it would last longer but now it's time to go. So we say our last 'byes' for the day and she pecks my lips so gently leaving me wanting for more.
I'm being greedy, am I?

We go back to our dorms and I just lay down on the bed thinking about Lauren as I fall asleep peacefully.
