Chp 27 - goodbye tellotown!

Alex's pov :

"When are we going back then?" Ember asks me. We've been talking random stuff while walking and it was pretty fine talking to her.

"I think we can leave tomorrow" I say. It's better if we leave. About getting embers info which Alicia asked me for it doesn't seem to happen. When danger comes I will take care till then we could be secure.

"Okay then we should start packing" packing? What is there to pack?

"There at only few clothes to take you don't call that packing" I comment.

"Whatever" she rolls her eyes. For the first time ever, rolling her eyes made me laugh. Usually I don't care but this time I give a small laugh. Nothing's funny but I just laughed in general. Oh my poor self! I'm getting unpredictable, aren't I?

We get back to the inn. I pick up all the stuff I will take back. And ember takes it too. I actually want to leave right now. I think we can it's just not so far anyway "how about we leave right now?" I ask her.

"Uh what? You sure you can drive at night?"

"Yea that's why I suggested" my problem is I can't keep my self from snapping when people ask me questions and embers problem is that she is the problem!

"In that case let's go then"
We don't have a bag so I just fold it and take ember's and my clothes to the car throwing it at the backseat.

I go to room 27 to see if I left anything and when I enter I'm surprised to see ember in the shortest clothes ever. What the....? Not so short but still it is short (pic above)
"Madam we are going to our university not to party"

"I know but these are the only neat clothes I have"

"Oh! What about that forever 101 dress? Wear that"

"It's 21 not 101 also I'm not wearing that. It's a party wear not home wear"

"Okay fine when somebody asks you any perverted questions I'm not responsible" I say and drag her out the room to lock it and give the key to the lady. I forgot to actually ask her name argh! After 8 days I'm asking her name. How foolish!
"Excuse me mam! May I get your name? " I don't know why I'm asking but I am.

"Oh Mr. Alex my name is Annette. It was a pleasure to have you here. And I'm sure you and your girlfriend liked it" she says with her scary and weird voice. Girlfriend huh! I smirk.

"Yea we sure did" I say with a huge smirky smile and say a thank you. I go to my beloved car. I sit in the drivers seat and start the engine with ember in the passenger seat.

"What took you long?" This girl is she always like this? I have had no privacy ever since she erupted form hell!!

"I asked the lady here name which I should have done already and she said if I and my girlfriend indicating you, liked it and I said yes. End of the conversation! Happy?"

"Girlfriend? You just said girlfriend indicating me?"

"After getting out of this tellotown we are no longer that remember and if you go and tell the whole world about this I will ruin your life"

"I know I know dummy" she says and turns her head to her window. I kind of sense some sadness I could be wrong though. I mean yeah we will be in our same self but she seems a bit hurt. Maybe she expected something good out of this? Never mind! Once out of this tellotown I longer know ember.

I drive but there is this weird silence and ember doesn't seem to talk nor listen to her favorite songs. I wonder if she wanted a good outcome out of this whole tellotown thingy. Probably being friends which I'm afraid of.
