Another winter coming to an end, sweet relief to all those who call the streets their home, Selina thought as she sipped her coffee. She was standing on the small metal balcony of Lily's condo in one of the cruelest parts of Gotham. Tough home for a tough girl.
Lily had taken Selina in as soon as she had gotten the place the past year. With the club she inherited from her newly deceased father, the first thing Lilly did was drop her father's home for a place she could call her own. The only person she had considered family was Selina and so it was only natural for her to swing by Selina's sewer hideout one day and rescue her. The only downside to having Selina around was the crowded amount of cats she currently had, nine to be exact. As long as they were all litter-boxers she didn't really mind.
Selina was overjoyed when her friend had offered her the spare room. There were three rooms, two bedrooms with the kitchen/living room separating them and the small balcony space Selina was now enjoying. Now twenty years old Selina was working as a bartender in Lily's club but by night... Selina looked out at the city that surrounded her, in just a few hours the streets would be bustling, traffic would kick up. But even now in the distance she could hear the sound of police sirens and maybe an ambulance as well. There was always a siren going off somewhere in Gotham. Selina was wrapped in a black silk robe that went to her feet and hid her cheetah print pajamas from the world. She took the last sip of her coffee and took a step behind the doorway. Sliding the security gate shut and then the glass door which she then locked. With bare feet she walked across the living room carpet to the kitchen tile and rather than walking around the counter she cartwheeled on to it and off to the other side in silence. She was always practicing. Selina never stopped her thieving. Now that she was working and had a place she didn't physically need to anymore, mentally she did. Thieving was giving her an all time high, Always did, always would, she thought. She wondered when anything would ever be enough for her and then smiled to herself as she turned on the sink to clean her mug.
"You're up early for once." Lily's voice came from her door.
"Morning Lil." Selina dropped the mug into the drying rack by the sink and turned to find Lily in her usual sleep attire- nothing but an over-sized t-shirt.
"But why so early?" Lily whined as she pulled up a chair at the kitchen counter.
"Jonathan and I have plans today." Selina, unable to find another clean mug in their cabinets, grabbed the same mug she just cleaned out of the drying rack and poured her friend some coffee.
"Ooo plans with Jonathan..." Lily raised an eyebrow as she took her first gulp of caffeine.
"Shut up will ya."
"You guys have been together for a while now...when you hooking up?"
"How long are you going to keep this up for?" Ever since Selina introduced Jonathan to Lily she had claimed she shipped them. Selina always just rolled her eyes at her, after all they were kids at the time.
"It's been four years.. Unless you guys already did and you just never told me."
"I would have told you."
"No you wouldn't have."
"No, I wouldn't have. But we didn't. Jonathan is Jonathan. Leave him be."
"Whats that supposed to mean, Sel?!"
"Figure it out." Selina rolled her eyes with a smile and walked to her room. She removed her robe and threw it onto her bed. As she walked over to her closet she could hear Lily's feet following after her.
