“Promise you'll stay out of trouble” Jonathan had asked her with his large, blue and pleading eyes. Selina laughed quietly to herself at the memory. Yesterday he had been so concerned when she let him into her life. She hadn't expected him to react that way, she figured he would be concerned, but thought he would be more scared to be with her...Didn't think the kid would be so brave, She thought as she walked the streets of Gotham scanning the crowds of people, Jonathan, my new friend. She smiled to herself, That poor kid doesn't know what he's gotten himself into. Suddenly Selina spotted a man walking her way, but it wasn't him she was interested in, as he hurried along he was stuffing his wallet in his coat pocket. A thick wallet-Selena noticed. Her eyes narrowed on the man and a smile crossed her face. No trouble here. She quickened her pace and just as he walked past she reached her hand into his coat pocket which he left open and slyly slid his wallet into her own pocket. She then slowed down and continued on with her walk. Too easy.

Selina wasn't exactly sure what else to do with the rest of her day, it was only ten in the morning . Jonathan doesn't get out till 2:30... With time to kill Selina decided to take the subway to Gotham Plaza. This time no one bothered Selina while she reflected on life, the train car was quiet as she looked out at the run down city she was desperate to get away from. She wondered what it would be like if Gotham was like generations before, if it was ever nice. As the old train noisily moved passed skyscrapers she pictured tiny fairies flying by and painting the city as they went along. Their paint repaired all the cracks in the pavement, rust on the cars, and broken stoplights. She smiled to herself and was pulled out of her imagination by Wayne Tower. She remembered Bruce Waynes' effortlessly flawless face and felt her cheeks warm up. If only we weren't so different. Ugh, no, not a chance. She rolled her eyes and got off at Gotham Plaza. She hurried herself out of the station and into the shopping center to keep warm and inspected the wallet she'd stolen. A gym membership-no, a debit card-maybe, a black credit card-yes, and thirty dollars cash-okay. Rich people never carry enough cash, but that credit card could be useful... Selina searched the mall for an ATM and found one. She knew she had to be smart with the credit and debit card. Purchases could be easily tracked down. Selina figured the guy wouldn't realize his wallet was gone until he needed it...I've got about a day, she confidently told herself as she placed his debit card on the screen for the ATM to scan. The screen lit up with a number that made her jaw drop, $157,000 in savings. Don't mind if I do, With a smirk on her face she cleared the machine and shoved the debit card back in the wallet. She shoved the wallet in an inside pocket of her leather jacket and continued her calm stride through the mall. She took a good look at the stores and the people hurrying to get into them as she passed by. Fucking rich people. She walked into a high fashion store and bought a warm black beanie, another leather jacket, a baggy gray sweatshirt, and underwear.

After paying she knew she hadn't at all put a dent in the mans' fortune and felt she had to buy more. What else? Selina felt stupid for even asking the question, she now had all this money for the day and had no clue what to do with it. All the things she really wanted couldn’t be bought, so what could she buy that would at least comfort her for the day? She saw in a store window a deep blue dress that was so elegant it could be worn to the White House but simple enough to be worn to a dinner in North Gotham. Selina just wanted to know how she would look in it so went inside and asked for a fitting. The woman that worked there was clearly in disbelief that a girl as young as she herself was alone but then shook the thought from her mind and went to retrieve the dress Selina pointed out. Selina, now waiting in the dressing room, giggled to herself as she heard the woman fussing about “this young girl with so much money-wasted!” to her co-worker. When the woman finally came in she helped Selina get the dress on, it was a perfect fit and Selina looked in awe at the young woman staring back in the mirror, she didn't look at all like a homeless girl that lived on the streets of Gotham. She looked like a classy young woman who was of a high social status, that had boys coming to her mansion daily, asking for her hand in marriage that she would turn down every time. Even the woman who was upset with her admitted she looked beautiful.
