Selina watched from the Ace Chemical building rooftop as Sarah's parents held her in their arms, and asked her where she'd been, and told her how scared they were when they'd lost her. Now she knew that Sarah's relationship with her parents was nothing like her own and a heavy weight was lifted off her shoulders. She couldn't see them very well because she was looking through their windows like a complete creep but could hear them since one of their windows was missing the glass.
“Honey we are so glad your home! I can't believe you found your way back your father was out all morning,we were calling the cops all day!”“I wouldn't have made it back if it wasn't for Seweena!” Selina smiled to herself.
“Sew-what?” Her mother asked.
“Seweena! She saved me from a scary man and she helped me find my way here! And she ran off.”
“Honey, who is Selina? She was here?”
“YES, she ran away before you opened the door! I wanna be just like her when I'm older!”“Alright, let's get you cleaned u-” Selina wondered if they ever would see each other again...No. We will see each other again. In that short time that they were together Selina couldn't help keep herself from growing attached to the girl. Even though the life Selina lived didn't have room for friendships right now, she was happy to know that Sarah would grow up with people who loved her, and that was all you really needed.
Night had fallen apon Gotham and it was even more cold than before. I'm freezing my tail off. She looked out at the city and saw colorful lights flashing from an alley not too far away. She hopped from roof to roof until she was across the street from a nightclub called “Nightlife”. There was catchy music blaring from the place, but the club door was guarded by two big guys in black hooded sweatshirts. They were both very intimidating, one had his sleeves rolled up to show arms covered in tattoo ink. Selina was naturally curious which was never a good thing. The music was almost enchanting and the colored lights were even more attractive, I gotta go in there. Selina wasn't sure what she would do if she got inside but was positive there would be pockets full of cash inside, and that there would be heat. She could try and talk to the guards but no way would they let her in...There had to be another way in...Selina jumped a few more roofs until she was standing on the Nightlife's neighboring roof. She carefully leaped from this roof to Nightlife's without making a sound, the guards hadn't looked up once! Selina looked for a, Maybe they had a second floor? Nope. But she did find an air vent. She crawled inside and it was nice and warm inside, not burning hot, but warm. She crawled until she found an opening that lead her to some kind of office. She could tell she was still inside Nightlife, but she knew for sure this wasn't a part of the club experience. She looked around and luckily there was no one inside the office. She could still hear the club music blasting through the walls. She kicked the vent grate until it bent open and carefully bent it back the way it was, she leaned the detached metal up against the vent so that it gave the image that it was still attached. She took a good look around, the office was neatly kept, with a plaque placed on the desk that read “club manager: Matthew D'agastino”.
“Hopefully Matthew won't be coming anytime soon.” Selina whispered to herself. But she spoke too soon, the door to the office swung open and a man wearing a black pinstripe suit was holding the door open with one hand while yelling to someone else over the music. Before he turned to walk in Selina crawled underneath the desk. She heard the door click shut again and could see the shadows of his feet walking around the office. He opened a filing cabinet to the left of the desk with a key that was in his pocket. He started whistling along with the dance music as he flipped through tons of folders. Please don't sit at this desk. Please don't see me! Selina was panicking. But the man in the suit stopped flipping through the folders, grabbed one out of the bunch, locked the cabinet up, and went back in to the club. When she heard the door click shut and the music become muffled again she jumped out from under the desk and sighed with relief. She quickly looked out at the peep hole and saw that there was no one guarding the door, and the club was very crowded. The men and women on the dancefloor proudly showed off their moves and there were many standing and drinking, and every booth was filled with very few seats left at the bar. This place is so packed they won't even notice me. Selina opened the door and walked out toward the ladies restroom. She needed to blend in with this crowd.
