Season 2: Episode 9: Queen of Hearts

-Storybrooke, Pawn Shop-  

Azalea sat by David's side in Mr.Golds shop. David hadn't moved from the moment he put himself under the curse. With every second that passed Azalea cursed herself more and more. How in the world could she have let David do this to himself? If Mary didn't get back from wherever she was what would happen to David? David was supposed to wake up, but the more time that passed, the less likely that seemed to be the case. Azalea had all the faith in the world when it came to David and Mary's love for one another, but little to none when it came to the people that surrounded her. Regina stood behind the flower girl, she could feel the waves of worry rolling off of the teen. Regina walked over to Mr.Gold who stood behind his desk looking through papers. "Any change?" He asked. "No. He isn't waking up." Regina said in a whisper. "His plan didn't work, now he needs true loves kiss. He wont wake up until Mary Margaret comes back." Mr.Gold hummed to himself. "Until...that's quite optimistic isn't it?" Regina asked him, not bothering to keep his voice low. Azalea tried to block out their conversation the best she could, holding David's hand tightly with her own. "What are you talking about?" Regina asked. "The Charming family up against your mother. The only chance that Mary and Emma have of defeating her is with the squid ink." Mr.Gold said. "Which is why you sent the message through with David." Regina said. "Which would be beneficial if we knew the message was actually delivered. But alas, given David's condition we don't know. As such, it is important that we take precaution." Azalea looked up from David, listening now that Mr.Gold was talking about the safety of the town. "We have to consider that when the portal opens it will not be their family that comes through. There is a grand chance of Cora coming through." He said. Regina looked frightened, "And no one wants that." Regina said. Mr.Gold made a gesture and the two adults walked to the front of the store and out the front door, out of hearing from the Azalea. Azalea took a shaky breath. She may be a teenager in this world but she was no fool. Those two were going to do anything to keep Cora from coming, now that David's gone. It's up to her to make sure that Emma and Mary were were able to make it back. She looked down at David. "I'm scared." She admitted to the sleeping prince. "I know you can't hear me. But I'm scared...I also know that you have been scared before too, and that you always stand up to evil people...now it's my turn to stand up for you, and Mary, Emma...the whole town." She lifted the flower crown from her head and gently put it on top of Davids hair, the dark purple and blue decorating his head. "Don't worry David. I'll protect the town. No matter what." She stood up and walked out of the back of the Pawn Shop, ready to do anything it took to protect Storybrooke.

-Dwarf mines/ fairy dust cave-

"Leroy! what is it?" Ruby called as she and Azalea ran through the dwarfs mines. He had called them both saying there was an emergency. "Their gone." He simply said shining his light up to the hole of the mines where the fairy dust was located. Azalea felt dread in her chest as she climbed through the hole. "Noo, no!" She said shining her light, every last bit of the diamonds used to make fairy dust was gone, like it was never there. "Who could have done this?" Ruby asked. "I know who, and we have to stop them." Azalea said turning to the two behind her. "David is under a sleeping curse and Mary is missing. So that puts us at the head of the royal table. So we need to find a way to solve this." She said with determination. Ruby and Leroy agreed. As the group left the mines Azalea felt her heart racing. Whoever had taken the fairy dust was messing with the wrong people.
