Stormy Weather

You and your girlfriend of three months, Amber Liu, we're currently sitting on the couch in Amber's apartment. You were both enjoying the movie on the screen but, you two were enjoying each other's company much more. Amber had her arms around your waist as you were snuggled into the crouch of her neck.

The climax of the movie was about to happen, from what you could hear, until the power instantly shut off. And then, your worst nightmare occurred. A very loud clap of thunder rumbled in the sky and then, a bright flash of lighting lit up the whole room. You jumped and hugged Amber hard, attempting to control your breathing until the tears that were in the brims of your eyes overflowed. This was the first storm that you've experienced with her, and, after all, you didn't want to seem like a child. But, even having this thought, you buried your head deeper into Amber's neck. Another loud clap of thunder vibrated the whole house and you jumped and gave a small whine. Amber pulled you close, realizing your scared body, trembling in her arms. Then, she began to rub your back soothingly.

Your legs were around her waist so she easily picked you up and carried you upstairs into her room. She laid you down on the bed, covering you, and released her grip from you. You grabbed her arm quickly after and looked up into her eyes. "P-please don't l-leave me A-Amber..." You said, tears running down your cheeks. Amber quickly crawled under the covers with you. Then, she pulled you close, holding your tense body. Another clap of thunder rang and you jumped, of course, and then gave a small sob. She began rubbing your back and whispered small things into your ear. She lifted up your chin and looked into your eyes. "I love you. It's okay. It'll all be okay soon, alright? Just stay close to me. I'll protect you, always." She said, kissing your forehead and then, leaning in to kiss your lips. You nodded and snuggled back into her chest, calming down some.

Before you knew it, you found yourself falling asleep in Amber's, warm arms that were wrapped securely around your body.
