I smiled watching Amber over the counter at work. She worked at a local café in the mall, only ten minutes from our shared home. She smiled every time a costumer ordered, and nodded her head every time they'd say something to her. She was going on break soon, and sometimes you come and see her here as a surprise.

But only a few minutes away from her break, a really pretty girl walked up to the counter, almost leaking of overconfidence and some overly expensive perfume; kind of like the ones you find in stores you go into to just 'see.' Her lips were painted a tacky shade of red and her lashes thick enough to resemble a drag queens. All of this was accompanied by stilettos that she seemed to struggle to walk in. She smirked, her arms crossed and her hip to the side, scanning the short menu of items for an extended amount of time. Amber's smile still on her lips, her fingertips drumming the counter quietly. "Can I have an iced, half caff, Ristretto, Venti, 4-pump, sugar free, cinnamon, Dolce Soy Skinny Latte, please?" She asked, leaning on the counter some. "Sure, I'll have that right up for you." Amber replied simply, the way she did with anyone else. And maybe I'm just another jealous girlfriend, but the strange girl seemed to seek some type of acknowledgement for her overachieving act of being an extremely obnoxious coffee orderer.

"Here you go!" Amber said, placing the plain looking beverage in front of the girl, the girls name sloppily written on the side of it. The girl smiled, popping the straw from its packaging and taking a loud sip, before gagging. "Excuse me, this isn't sugar free." She said, almost comedically. "I'm sorry, would you like us to fix it or would you like a refund?" Amber asked, smiling still as she was supposed to. "Neither," the girl began, "I know how it can be fixed." "Yes miss, and how is that?" Amber asked politely. "A date, with me." The girl said, her smile growing and her arms propped on the counter, showing off way too much cleavage for any of the public's liking.

But Amber just smiled and gave a chuckle.

"You're a doll, and I appreciate the fact that you found an interest in me through a ridiculously long coffee order, but I have to politely decline." Amber said, about to walk away.

"Why?" The girl asked, "Do you have something better to do?"

"More like someone better to do." Amber said, looking surprised after it slipped out of her mouth. "Really, like who? I outlook everyone in this town, baby." She said, her long nails now tapping a disgusting tune on the hard countertops. Amber smiled again.

"Just because you wear cheap lipstick, off branded perfume, and have a plan to impress girls with an elaborate order than you've probably spent hours working on, does not in anyway make you outlook anyone." Amber said, the girl taken aback.

"Now, if you'd excuse me, I'm clocking out to speak to the girlfriend behind you that heard this entire conversation. Have a good day, love." Amber said, winking, and walking to the break room.
