Me, being ever so fortunate, had moved the summer going into my senior year of high school. Today was the first day at this foreign school that I had to attend, and I didn't know a single person there. Also, the size of this school compared to my last one seemed like a college campus, so that was also slightly terrifying.
Walking into the school, I received stares from some, but most people were busy talking with their friends and meeting up with them after summer. This was to my advantage. The hallways seemed endless, so hopelessly, I scanned the hallways for locker '919', the locker that I would be assigned to for this year.
Finally finding it in a hallway of the purple lockers, I tried opening it myself, knowing that I would more than likely fail.
'890-12-54' my schedule read under locker combination.
It seemed as if I had tried to open it a hundred times already, but it not budging once. By now, this hallway was crowding with other people, the ones that I had assumed to be the other seniors. Trying a few more times, I lightly punched my locker in defeat, letting my head hit it. I let out a deep sigh, tears threatening to spill already from being so overwhelmed.
"These lockers suck sometimes, do you need some help?" I heard a voice ask behind me. I looked behind me and nodded, hope flooding my body again. This was a girl, who was a good four or five inches taller than me, so she towered over me. She was wearing a letterman jacket that read 'LAHS Basketball', and a last name of 'LIU' across the back. Her hair was short and blonde, and it was messily put together.
Being lost in studying the girl in front of me, I hadn't realized that she had already opened my locker. "There. With yours, you have to go right first, but start at zero. Unless you want to be like most of us and just put a pencil in the lock. It makes life easier." She said, leaning against the opened door. "Thank you." I said, taking my backpack off of my shoulder. "Who are you, anyways? I don't think that I've seen you before." She said. 'So it starts' I mentally said to myself.
"I'm new here, I just moved." I said. She laughed lightly. "Well, that's why. I know almost everyone here, since I grew up here." She said, "I'm Amber, by the way." I smiled, not knowing what to say. "If you need help finding anything, I'm easy to find." She said.
She began to walk away, and I turned and began to put things into my locker.
"Oh, you're pretty cute by the way. I'll make sure to be talking to you later." She said, smirking and then walking off to a group of girls who were also wearing letterman jackets.
I turned away again and blushed. My eyes caught on the pink post it note on my locker.
'I saw you walk in, hope that's not creepy. Text me sometime, gorgeous.
