It Doesn't Matter

I tremble.

I shake.

It's okay, I tell myself.

It'll be over soon.

It can't be that bad.

"It doesn't matter."

"It doesn't matter."

I keep on reminding myself.

I can feel my heart clench.

My breath quickens.

My stomach twists in disgust.

"It doesn't matter."

"It doesn't matter."

I cover my mouth from screaming.

I grab my hair.

I curl into myself.

"It doesn't matter."

"It doesn't matter."

I bite my lip.

My tears won't stop.

I look around for some kind of comfort.

"It doesn't matter."

"It doesn't matter."

I try to imagine warm arms around me,

But I'm horrified to feel the bitter cold rip into my skin.

I violently shiver.

"It doesn't matter."

"It doesn't matter."

I drop to my knees.

I'm pathetic.

I'm weak.

"It doesn't matter."

"It doesn't matter."

I feel a jolt of emotions run through me.

I clench my fists.

It hurts so much.

"It doesn't matter."

"It doesn't matter."

I lay helplessly alone.

My body tells me to escape.

But I'm trapped in reality.

"It doesn't matter."

"It doesn't matter."

I need help.

I need a hero.

I need someone-anyone.

"It doesn't matter."

"It doesn't matter."

But that's when I remember.

No one wants a broken girl.

No one wants with a girl with a shattered heart.

No one wants a coward like her.

Because in the end..

"It doesn't matter."

"It doesn't matter."

It'll all be over soon.
