BLAKE:

"Where do you think you're going, Blake?!?" I hear my dad yell, as I put the rest of my stuff in Jackson's car.

"I told you dad, I'm going to school," I say trying not to lie, but at the same time not to tell the truth.

"Well, you better be home before dark or else with," he barks.

"Whatever," I say as I jump in the car.

The music is jamming as we begin the four hour drive to the ship boarding school. I'm so glad I have a friend like Jackson. I honestly don't know what I would have done without him. I probably would have committed suicide, but he has been there for me all the way. In fact, he was the one who found out about this school. I really wish he was coming with me, I'm really going to miss him, but he wants to stay with his family and girlfriend.

Beside him, I won't miss anyone. My mom died when I was 4 and I am actually happy that I won't be seeing my dad anymore. He's an alcoholic who abused my sister. I couldn't handle watching so I use to defend her and would end up getting beat up pretty badly. She has moved out now, and I never hear from her.
After she left my father started to beat me up just because he wanted to. I wanted to fight back, everything inside me said I should, but I knew that if I did my dad would turn me into the police. Sometimes I would sleep on a bench at the public park just because I was too afraid to go home. I tried to turn him in multiple times, but no one believes a teenager and one of the head of police is friends with my dad, so they would defend him anyways. I'm just glad all of that is over with now. Finally, something good is going to happen in my life, I can just feel it.

After an awesome four hours of talking to Jackson and rocking out to the hottest new hits, we arrive. Jackson helps carry my thing to my new room and we throw all the stuff on my bed.

"Well man, I guess this is goodbye," I say.

"Ya, I guess so," Jackson says a hint of sadness in his voice, "But we'll keep in touch. You remembered your phone right?!?"

"Dude, I couldn't live without my phone. Of course I remembered it!!!" I say laughing, "and you better not forget about me!"

"If anyone is gonna forget about someone, it would be you forgetting about me, I mean did you see those hot girls?"

We laugh. We hug goodbye and I say, "Thank you for everything you've done for me, there is no way I could forget someone who literally saved my life!"

He just gives me a weak smile and shuffles out.

A maid knocks on the door and enters. "You roommate will not be coming, are you ok with having this room to yourself? Or do you want a roommate?" she asks.

"Oh! I'm fine having this to myself," I say.

"Ok," she says as she leaves.

Man just when I thought it couldn't get better, and now I get this whole room to myself!!!
