27: I Think I Like Her

BLAKE:

"Well that was an interesting date," says Thomas.

"To say the least," says Jackson.

I stay silent because I honestly don't know what to say.

"Well, at least I technically still got to go on a date. Even though neither of you did," Thomas says.

Jackson says, "I'm just surprised Abigail went and helped her, not Blake. I always thought Blake was the sweetest person..."

"Dude, what was I suppose to do?"

"I don't know. Anything!" Jackson says.

"Ya, because you would have done something," I reply. "I'm just gonna go bed."

I leave the room quite frustrated.

When I get to my room I get changed and hop in bed. Then I lay there staring at the ceiling just thinking.

Maybe I should go see how Lily is feeling. I hope she doesn't feel sick. Why did she agree to do that dare anyways? She could have just said no. Would I have done the dare? Yep, in a heartbeat. I smile. She's just like me. Or maybe I'm just like her... We'd be perfect together. What?!? No Blake! How could you like someone who threw up on your first "date"? She's so weird. But she's so amazing. She's different than all the other girls and she's not ashamed to be herself, even on a date. Plus she's really cute. Are you kidding me Blake? You could have basically anyone in the school and you like Lily. She's a nobody. Maybe that's why I like her, she's not all popular and bratty. She's not incredibly rich like a lot of the other people here and she's been through a lot in her life too. Blake!!!! She literally just threw up jalapeño!!! And that makes her human. I breathe out. I like her, I really do. Gosh darnit Blake you just admitted it and now you're done for.

"Bro, wake up!!!"

I open my eyes to see Jackson and Thomas all dressed for school.

I yawn. "What are you guys doing in my room?"

"You forgot to turn your alarm on and school started 10 minutes ago," Thomas says.

I jump out of bed. "Why aren't you guys in class?"

"Well, I was just going to go with you to all your classes," Jackson says, "so I was in math class and you weren't there. So I figured I better see what was up?"

"And he told me you weren't in class, so I came with him," Thomas says.

I rush into the bathroom get changed, grab my books, and run to math class with Jackson. My hair is a disaster, my stomach is empty, and I'm sure I smell terrible. I take my seat and my math teacher rolls her eyes. She hands Jackson and I tardy slips. Great!

At lunchtime Jackson Thomas, and I all sit together.

"So me and Thomas were talking last night after you left," Jackson says.

"And?" I say.

"We decided we want to go on another date. Abigail and Sarah seem really cool. I know you don't want to take Lily, so you could ask someone else. And maybe this triple date won't turn out so bad," Thomas says.

"That sounds fun, but if you want me to come then Lily is coming," I say.

"Why?" Jackson asks.

"Because she's the only girl who I would ever think of going on a date with."

"What are you saying?" Thomas asks.

"I don't really know..." I respond.
