BLAKE:
"Here we are, and by the way I'm Thomas," he says smiling.
"I'm Blake," I say looking around. There are games of all sorts going on. From sports to video games. "And I thought I was going to get bored," I say amazed. We both laugh.
"Yep, this is where the guys hang out. Over there are the jocks practicing, and over there are the nerds studying for who knows what, and then over there are the geeks playing video games," he says pointing to each one as he talks.
"Which one are you?" I ask curiously.
"I guess a jock, I play a bit of football."
"There's a football field?!?"
"Ya, it's in here. Over there there's a basketball court, and over there there's a baseball field."
"Wow, this is incredible! And to think this is a ship!"
"I know right, do you play any sports?" He asks.
"I played soccer and basketball last year."
"Sorry dude, we don't have a soccer team, but you could check out the basketball team. Their pretty good though, and their not looking for more players. But if you want to play a sport, football could use a few more players," he says winking.
"Hmmm, I'll think about it. But the idea of being tackled by a bunch of huge football players doesn't sound too exciting to me."
"Okay whatever, you can go hang out with those nerds then," Thomas says jokingly.
We walk around and I'm amazed at how many cool things are on this ship.
Seriously though. There's huge rooms, no dad, good food, and an amazing guys hangout. It couldn't possibly get any better!
"Oh and I almost forget," he says leading me across the room, "this is what's called the 'Man Pig Out' it's where you can get all the junk food you want and it's paid for by the ship."
"Are you serious? That's so awesome." I order a soda and curly fries. "I have one question."
"Ya?"
"What's the point of having sports teams when there is no one to play?"
He laughs and says, "Well, every week we stop at a harbor somewhere and you're allowed to go around the town and hang out for the day. On that day the sports teams play other teams from that area or from other ship schools."
"Oh, that's pretty cool!"
"Ya, so are you going to Mckenzie's party tomorrow? Because you really should."
"Maybe, but some girl invited me and I don't really want to go with her..."
"Dude, you have to go! You can come with me and the gang. Plus that is where all the cute girls are anyways. Plus if you want to be a jock, you have to be cool."
I laugh, "okay I guess I'll come."
