I woke up with a jolt, and a small smile came upon my lips. Maybe Hunter wasn’t all bad, my talk with him helped. I’m just glad he didn’t tell Mr Thompson what he knew; I knew that Hunter was suspicious about my gift. I think he knew that I had something. I sighed, I never really had visions, the only visions I saw were Ava’s. But this was the first time in a while I had a vision on my own, and without any headaches. I closed my eyes, sleep coming to me.

When a loud snore got me out of my doze, I gritted my teeth. This new guy got assigned to my room and is really annoying. I’ve been trying to sleep for two hours (my vision doesn’t count; I fell asleep due to exhaustion). I looked at him, and another loud snore came from him, the guy was in his mid forties and was big on the belly. And man could he snore, he also just happened to be stuck in my room, nice. Note the sarcasm there. I groaned and rolled on my side when pain flared; I grunted and went back to lying on my back. I hated this, I hated hospitals, and mostly I hated this guy.

I hated hospitals, and mostly I hated this guy.

Another snore decided to come out of his lips. Anger blazed within my chest, I couldn’t take this anymore.

That bloody bustard! I thought.

I pulled the covers off me and slowly got up, pain went through me but I ignored it. I walked to the snoring guy with my hand over my wound. I got to the guys bed and stood there deciding what to do. An idea went through me; I walked to the side of my bed and grabbed my air horn that Cook secretly gave me when Ava and he left. I silently walked to the guy and put it right to his ear, this will teach the bastard not to snore. I pushed down and a loud noise filled the air, before the guy could look at me I ran to my bed like a bullet, ignoring the pain, and pulled the covers over me pretending to be asleep.

“What the heck?” He roared. “Who was the idiot that did that?”

I heard footsteps come into the room.

“Please sir, refrain from yelling we have sick patients who need their sleep,” The nurse said.

“Some punk put an air horn to my ear, waking me up!”The guy continued to yell. “I need my sleep here woman!”

“Sir I need you to calm down,” She said calmly.

“Calm down!?” He yelled louder, “I have been woken from my sleep and you expect me to calm the heck down?”

With a sigh the nurse started pushing his bed out of my room, the guy kept yelling his head off until I could hear him no more. I laughed quietly to myself that was the most fun I had yet, and it got rid of the snoring guy, score one for me. With that I fell into a peaceful sleep.

A feeling of being watched woke me up from my sleep, I opened my eyes and looked around the room, feeling tired. Nothing seemed out of place, the room was dark, but you would expect that during the middle of the night.

Nothing here, I thought.

But the feeling of being watched got stronger, using my gift I scanned the room of any emotions and hit jackpot. Right in the far left corner of the room I sensed a person, and they were feeling cautious and yet they had something to tell me. I smiled in the darkness knowing who it was.

“Come out Hunter I know your here,” I said.

“Should have known you would know it was me,” Hunter said coming out of the darkness.

I raised my eyebrows, “What brings you here?”

He looked at me for a moment before speaking, “Ever since I saw you I knew that you were different, I listened to my instincts and look where I end up”
