Mr Thompson left go of my shirts collar like it was dirt and looked at me with a smirk on his face.
“I must say Mr Jones nice work on getting rid of the children; I did not expect that and it takes a lot to surprise me,” He said. “But you’re not going anywhere.”
He then looked over my shoulder and noticed Ava, “Ah Ava nice of you to join us.”
“But we must be getting to business, now Ava would you so kindly walk up to me and no funny stuff, otherwise your brother here will get a shot to the head.”
At that guards came from the corners and pointed their guns at my head, Ava glared at Mr Thompson but did as he asked and walked so that she was standing beside him.
“You!” Mr Thompson said to a guard. “Get a car quickly the cops will be on us and I want to get away from this shit whole!”
The guard started to talk onto his radio strapped to his chest.
I looked around trying to survey an escape route but there wasn’t any, I felt Ava’s panic and knew that she didn’t want to go with Mr Thompson.
“Sir there’s a car out front waiting,” The guard with the radio said.
Mr Thompson nodded and turned back to me a smile on his face; he walked up to me and got a gun hidden in his shirt, my eyes widened in surprise. And pointed it at me. I felt fear in my chest and knew that it wasn’t only my fear I felt. Mr Thompson nodded at someone behind me and I felt a sharp pain in my leg, I cried out in pain and fell to the floor on my knees. Mr Thompson pressed the gun to my forehead.
“You have been a pain since I got here Mr Jones, we would have completed our job quickly but you got in the way of things. Making my time here longer than necessary, so I will enjoy killing you, I would have liked to make you suffer but we are on a time limit. So goodbye Mr Jones,” Mr Thompson snarled.
I stared at him feeling my blood pump in my veins, and I could feel the joy Damius was getting from my fear, he was no ‘Mr Thompson’ any more. He put his finger on the trigger.
“No!” Ava called out. “Stop!”
Guards grabbed her and she started to fight.
“Enough!” Damius roared. “Stop your yelling otherwise I’ll just kill him now!”
Ava stopped fighting and stood there letting the guards hold her, glaring at him.
Damius smirked at me than, “You have no idea why we are taking her do you?”
“Like you would know anything,” Ava snarled.
Damius then walked to her and slapped her across the face; she glared at him not crying out in pain. A red mark was starting to form on her cheek.
“Shut up,” He said through his teeth.
Ava than spat at his face.
I laughed silently to myself at that.
Damius gritted his teeth but walked away from her, and once again pressed the gun to my forehead. While all this was happening an idea was forming in my mind, would it work? I bloody hoped so! But first I needed to stall.
“So Damius what’s it like working for the Emissary Of Shadows?” I said.
He looked at me, shocked, “How do you know that name?”
“Ava,” I thought to her.
She looked at me than.
“Or about that fact that you used to be in charge?” I said still stalling.
