Cook led me to the Headmasters office where Mr Thompson was standing with a look of complete anger on his face; yep I was defiantly in big trouble.
“Sit down,” He ordered.
I did as I was told, Cook stood there not knowing what to do.
“You may go,” Mr Thompson said to Cook.
“But..,” Cook objected but he was cut off.
“I said now! Don’t make me fire you!” He snarled.
Cooks face became a mask and he left slamming the door behind him.
“Now I think you know why you’re here,” Mr Thompson said calmly.
I decided to play dumb, “No sir I don’t”
Anger crossed his face, “Don’t play dumb with me boy, you know this is about Clive”
I felt nothing but hate for this man, I glared at him, “He started it, and I just finished it off”
Mr Thompson slammed his fist on the desk.
“And you think that’s okay?” He roared.
“Well if it makes you angry then yes,” I replied.
“You are pushing it way to far boy,” Mr Thompson threatened.
“Is that a threat?” I hissed leaning closer to him.
He smirked, “I did tell you to be careful boy”
“Where you the one who killed the Headmistress?” I snapped.
“HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE ME OF MURDER!” Mr Thompson yelled.
I smiled.
“You boy are a troublemaker,” He hissed, his voice low.
“I know I am sir,” I spat the last word.
He raised his hand and slapped me across the face; I took a step back and stared at him with hatred. Not even filching.
“You are a pathetic waste of human flesh, get out of my office,” He said.
I smirked, “My pleasure”
And with that I walked out of the office with a red mark on my face, Cook came to me with a worried look.
“I heard him yelling,” Cook said and then he noticed my red face.
“Why that two faced maggot! I’ll bloody teach that bugger to not slap kids!” He yelled.
I grabbed Cooks arm, “Leave it be”
“He cannot get away with this! It’s against the law to hit kids!”
“Don’t make it worse Cook I’m fine, he’s just a jerk anyway,” I said trying to calm Cook down.
Cook looked at me and sighed, “Fine I’ll leave it, but if he does something again I’ll kill the bastard!”
I smiled and let go of Cooks hand, we both made our way to the Kitchen and started to make food.

Ava joined us when I was chopping the meat.
“Hey guys,” She said with a smile and then noticed my face.
She looked at Cook and raised an eyebrow.
“Mr Thompson hit Leo across the face,” He explained.
“What!?” Ava exclaimed. “Did you tell somebody?”
“Leo wants it to be left alone,” Cook answered.
She looked at me then, “Why?”
I smiled, “Let’s just say he’s already pissed off as it is”
Cook laughed, a deep rich laugh that echoed around the kitchen. Ava joined him.
I shrugged, “He said I was a troublemaker and I replied with ‘I know I am’”
They both laughed even harder at this. My smiled got bigger.
“Ava do you want to help Leo chop the meat?” Cook asked.
Ava nodded and stood beside me.
I grabbed a board and knife for her and we both went to work.
“What happened?” Ava thought to me.
I told her.
“That bastard! He can’t just do that!” She yelled.
I flinched.
“Sorry”
“It’s okay,” I said.
I looked at Ava’s work.
“Don’t forget to chop the fat off and you have to season the meat, it gives it better taste”
Ava followed what I said.
“Nice work Ava,” Cook commented.
She beamed at him.
We all went back to work, once Ava and I were done we cooked the meat. Ava did well considering I was giving her advice. Cook was impressed with her work and said that she was a natural, we both giggled silently at this.
“Pass me the seasoning Leo,” Ava asked.
I grabbed the seasoning and passed it to her while flipping the meat, Cook gave Ava more work to do by chopping up vegies and putting them into the pan. She did all this without asking Cook for help. Eventually Ava and I took over the cooking while Cook stood back and watched us with amusement. When we wanted something passed to each other, we asked each other in our heads, Cook watched closely at that I could tell he was beginning to catch on, but I didn’t mind.
“Well it looks like you Ava seem to know what you’re doing,” Cook said with a glint of amusement in his eyes.
“Don’t worry Cook,” I said. “I’m telling Ava what to do”
And with that he burst into laughter.
I enjoyed doing this but when I accused Mr Thompson of killing the Headmistress, I sensed something. He didn’t kill her but he was a part of it, of something big.
