Twenty-nine [] I promised

Jae's pov

They took all of us to the station and told us we were off the hook.

"I just can't believe they just let us off. There has to be a catch." Mac spoke as we walked out the station.

"I know the catch." Fruits said standing by me.

"We don't have a ride back to the mall." He added turning his head towards us.

We all groaned in frustration.

"I'll call Joshua to take some of us to the park and the rest to ride back with him, back to hospital." S.Coups said walking away.

I looked at the people that just fought a bunch of dudes and laughed.

"We total beat their asses." I said smiling slightly because of the bruise on my cheek.

They nodded laughing.

"He's on his way." S.Coups ran back to us and we all sat down on the curb.

__time skip__

"There he is!" I jumped up pointing at the car coming down the road.

Joshua's deep red car with only 4 seats open.

"How are we gonna do this?" Mac asked.

"I can make two trips." Joshua said reaching over the passenger seat, talking through the window.

"I'm going with him. I want my car." Derek stated, pulling Halle closer to his waist.

I put a confused look on and looked at him. I shrugged it off.

"I'll stay." I said putting into the conversation.

"I'll stay with Jae." Vernon added. "I will too." Fruits said smiling at me.

I smiled but it faded quickly, focusing back on the arguement.

"I'll stay and Mac wants to too." DK announced.

After we figured out who was going with Joshua and who was staying, S.coups, Derek, Halle, Brooklyn went and Vernon, Fruits, Mac, DK, and I stayed.

"I'M STARVING JAE!" Vernon yelled out of nowhere, causing me to jump.

"Damn, chill. We can grab food on the way back." Mac sighed. DK smiled his giant smile and nodded at us.

"I mean that sounds fine but I'm starving too." Fruits added.

"Well we don't have much money though. And we'll probably have to pay for Syd's bills at the hospital." I said sighing, just thinking about how much that will cost stresses me out.

"Yea, you have a point." DK trailed off.

__time skip__

We all got back to the hospital started walking up to Syd's room.

"Ma'am?" The lady at the front desk asked us as we were heading to the elevator.

"Yes?" I asked.

"You have to sing in before coming into the building for now on." She said, taking her hand and waving us back to the desk.

"What did she say?" I asked Vernon.

He restated what she said and I sighed.

I walked back and 'signed' all of out names.

"Thank you." She slightly smiled. She looked down at the paper and stared at our names.

"Oh you're Jae Maeberry? You have a big surprise with your friend upstairs." This time she smiled big and motioned me to the elevator quickly.

I looked at Vernon. He nodded as we all ran to the elevator and slammed the buttons to get to her room.

I ran down the hall into Syd's room as we saw a living, breathing, smiling Sydney.

I dropped to the floor with joyful tears in my eyes.

"SYD!" Fruits yelled as he ran to her and hugged her.

The rest went and hugged her but Vernon stayed back with me.

"She's okay. I promised." He said smiling and grabbing me and pushing towards the bed.
